Review: I bought this pedal for a Line 6 HX Stomp XL, hoping to use both the switch and the expression pedal. Sadly this is not possible out of the box, even if this version of the pedal has the standard HX Stomp on some images of the product. Basically, for the expression pedal to be correctly read from the HX Stomp, you have tu use a TRS cable, otherwise, with a TS, only a portion of the movement will be read. This makes it impossible to also connect the switch, since the HX Stomp has a single input jack for both expression and switch. Once I understood how the stomp reads the inputs and how the three connectors on this pedal works, I understood why you can't use both functions, but the documentation for this pedal is not very user friendly honestly (and neither is the one for the HX Stomp, to be fair). Beside that, once connected with a TRS cable the pedal works quite well even if the pot is a 25k and not a 10k, which is the suggested resistance for the Line 6. By the way, there are some possible hacks to make both functions working on the Stomp, not necessarily involving soldering, but as I said I'm considering an out of the box use here. I can confirm that there are weights inside the pedal, but I don't think that they put them there for a "perceived quality" reason, but maybe to add a bit of stability if you use it on the ground. You can easily remove the weights if, like me, you fix the pedal on a pedalboard. Other than that the pedal is made of metal and feels quite sturdy, the only downside is that both the sector gear and the pinion on the internal potentiometer are made of plastic, and only time will tell if they are durable enough. Feels solid and very well built. I personally like the slick surface. I don’t use expression pedals often and usually for a very short period, so it’s more of momentary with for me.
