**Q: What kind of wood is it?**
A: Hi, the PSKOOK Hand Drill is made from sturdy Schima superb and the great wood board perfect for forming ember, we hope the information and the related YouTube video are helpful for you.

**Q: About how many times (Approx) can this bow drill be used to make a coal? Thanks.**
A: It's good for several uses.  You'll have to replace some of the wood especially the one that's being drilled.  Good novelty fire starter.  But if you're going to use it for a bug-out bag, better bring a lot of bic lighters instead.

**Q: I didn’t get any instructions. Can anyone give me a quick how to?**
A: I can probably get you some directions and email them to you - it works very well.  Basically, straighten out cordage attached to bow and upright.  Use enough downward pressure to hold in place in notch.  With approx 10 - 15 "saws" back and forth, you will see smoke and a little more will provide smoldering/glowing ash.

**Q: Does it come with a handle**
A: It comes as pictured with a manual.  The top of the upright in the picture has a sorta bearing system.

I was hesitant but, this item works

This kit needs a little bit of modification once you get it, but after that it works fairly well. You need to cut the notch back to the center (or almost center) of the divot where you put the drill mandrel. As you create dust, there's nowhere for it to go unless the notch enters that space. I also undercut the bottom of the notch. That allows for a deeper seat and more airflow. After that, it worked just fine. I wished the top handle would stay on, but it's not a big deal to assemble it again once it falls off. It's a great learning tool for kids and those new to this style of fire starting. You get the basics and some confidence before moving on to more traditional or improvised methods.
