Ecosystem- Closed Ecosystem, Small Round Sphere 4" with 2-3 Shrimp

I love it!!!! It came with 4 shrimps. All came alive but 1 passed the next day so there’s 3 now. Please make sure you are home the day they get delivered because keep in mind there shrimps are in a dark box so read the instructions as to how introduce them to light again. They were well packaged. The fed ex guy was curious so I opened it so he can see them. We were both fascinated. The easy of use not much to care for the since they have their own ecosystem. The size is perfect definitely worth the value. Just be careful not leave these shrimp in direct sunlight or full blow brightness. I love them and bring me happiness. It is amazing to see them.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I had to leave one because this is such a cool little world! A friend told me about these spheres and I am so glad I decided to get one and give it a try. The item came well packaged, and I got three shrimp in mine. Very sleek looking, and convenient since you just have to find the right place to sit it and not worry about cleaning or feeding or daily care. The perfect little pets! The shrimp are active and fun to watch. Each day the kids and I watch them play a bit and it's just so neat to have them here in their little world, and a part of ours too! I am happy with this purchase and think it'd be a great gift for someone also. Especially an elderly family member or friends and family with young children, since it provides a lot of joy and not a lot of obligation. Very cool product!

4th UPDATE: if you have read my below updates you will see why I'm so frustrated and disgusted. They finally sent me a replacement and unbelievably, that one is absolutely full of algae also after two months. The quality of these is absolutely not the quality that it used to be when this was called ecosphere. Do not waste your money. 3rd update: it took literally months but this company finally replaced my sphere that became overgrown with algae. They said that my sphere had a bad batch of salt. I had to be pretty relentless with them but they did finally send me a new one thank goodness. 2nd UPDATE: Well, after numerous communications back-and-forth with this company I am now thoroughly disgusted. As they've requested I have sent them numerous videos showing the algae growth inside the sphere. As mentioned earlier, this sphere has never been in direct sunlight but the algae started growing out of control shortly after I received it. I'm now down to only one shrimp left and I've only had it seven months. They keep promising to resolve the problem and they are supposedly working with their home office in Germany. They now have just simply blown me off. I would never buy from this company again. UPDATE: shortly after receiving it, it started to grow algae like nobody's business and two shrimp died. I did my research before purchasing it so I knew it should not ever be in direct sunlight which it never was. I've been in contact with the company and have sent them some videos. I'm hoping they will do right by me and replace it. I will update this review after this comes to a conclusion. My sister-in-law purchased one of these 10 years ago. It still has two shrimp alive and kicking. I ordered this one recently and it's really cute. I purchased a separate little stand for it which makes it look better I think. For the first 10 days I counted three shrimp every day. Then to my surprise on the 11th day, there are actually four little shrimp inside. I'm hoping I have the same luck with mine as my sister-in-law and many others have. Talk about the perfect pet.

The wood is fake. The older versions had real wood in them and looked a lot better. I am disappointed in the quality

I’ve had this at other times in the past. I love it because I’m lazy. My cat finds it entertaining. The one I received this time had more plants and animals than I’ve had in the past. I look forward to reordering in 3 or so years. On a brighter note…. I think it’s a good educational opportunity.

Over the past several weeks the number of living brine shrimp in my ecosystem has gone from 4 to 2, and only one of the remaining two is actually healthy. The photo I shared shows one of two things: either the one healthy brine shrimp standing vigil with their last remaining companion, or the one remaining healthy brine shrimp standing watch over their final victim. There was probably just not enough natural resources within the ecosystem to sustain more than a single brine shrimp, and its possible the last one predated the other 3 or simply outcompeted them for food. In any case, it's super depressing, and when the final brine shrimp passes I will not be refilling it despite the warranty allowing me to. If I want to keep sea monkeys, I will do so in an open tank that I can add food to rather than one that prevents me from even euthanizing the second-to-last resident, who appears to me to be suffering.

This is a great gift for any young man or even adults. to learn about how the sea works. Watching the five shrimp swim around in the morning is great !!👍🏻
