Review: Malinois Dream Toy - I have a Belgian Malinois and for him this is by far the greatest toy ever created. It lets him tap into that hardcore instinct and practice a fight, not just tug-of-war with a rope. It's also a decent exercise for the human playing with the dog. Highly recommended for any Shepherd/Bull/Protection breed as this kind of toy training is what they live for.

I've let her play with it on her own as well to make it "hers", and the only problem is she chewed up the handles, which I'll eventually replace or make my own, but the fabric material itself is tough enough that it's lasted for months, far longer than any basketball that she can shred.

**Q: How can I train my dog to not go for the handles or sides?**
A: I’m not a dog trainer. But I started by putting dog in sit, then holding the pad right in front of him. Then I give the “get it” command, and if he hits center then we play tug for about 3 seconds… then I let him have the toy for the win. If he hits the handle or side then there is zero play zero fun zero reward.

**Q: My dog is not in bite work, but I use tug as a reward for obedience. Can this be used as a tug reward, even though we are not training in bite work?**
A: If your dog likes it as a reward. Then yes. Your reward for a good job can be a fun game of high praise and a tug of war with he or she winning in the end. Just don't let them keep it for prolonged periods. Just quick fun reward then done.

**Q: Can this be used as a sleeve??**
A: This one comes with a handle and can only be used with both hands, not like the sleeve. The tearing competition is much more interactive.

I have a Belgian Malinois and for him this is by far the greatest toy ever created. It lets him tap into that hardcore instinct and practice a fight, not just tug-of-war with a rope.
