I've just watched this whole set over the period where the UK voted in Boris Johnson (Dec' 2019), a period in which the UK media went beyond black comedy into farce. In the light of these recent events Brass Eye looks more like a prescient bit of documentary soothsaying: 'We tell you what to think... next' Indeed! The celebrities making asses of themselves are perhaps my least favourite bits, as indeed are most such segments in most TV media. The best stuff is the spoofing of the content and delivery of news itself, which is done incredibly well. Essential viewing, more so now than ever. Buy it, watch it, have a good laugh. And then reflect on where we and our news media are now. Superb satire, with a sting that long outlasts viewing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Where are you Chris Morris? *by T***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2014* Head stalker of the Chris Morris fan club is probably going to send me packing with a flea in my ear, when I suggest that there were rumours of Mr Morris narrowly escaping jail some 6 years ago, after being exposed as an imposter //investigative journo in a New South Wales monastic order, that had been on the radar for some years for it's unhealthy interest in under age boys. with 3rd hand tales of how "Chris" (to his friends only) is now happily married to Ruth , the daughter of Vietnamese boat people, living in Sydney with their twins, Kelly and Shelley now (both) aged 4, selling waterside real estate to anyone stupid enough to buy the prices he is asking....However, I doubt it.I do hope Chris Morris will raise his troublesome head above the parapet again in his contribution to exposing liars, hypocrites and cheats everywhere. I'm going to.What you're getting here is a DVD of fine television ranging from pranks on politicians to cock-ups on camera. This series (and special) is certainly not for those who are easily offended, however. There is plenty of well-crafted satire and genius comedy reserved for those who can appreciate it all.With the same sort of idea as The Day Today, and absolutely not the same sort of idea as Jam, you'll be treated to some of the finest lines in British television's long history, as well as genius acronyms, character names and other observational comedy you won't find anywhere other than in Chris Morris's creations.The Paedophile Special is completely over the line.
