Dorman 1590000 Driver Side Headlight Assembly Compatible with Select Cadillac / Chevrolet / GMC Models

This part works ok and I don't have any bad issues with it .

Some reviewers say they couldn't aim the headlights, I believe they are attempting to use the threaded rods as adjusters. Those are not adjusters, those are for removing the housing from the brackets. The proper adjustment screws are 2 small inverted torx heads you access from above the headlight through the header panel sheet metal. The vertical adjuster also accepts a phillips screwdriver and the horizontal takes a small torx if the inverted torx socket doesn't fit into the header panel hole. One is the middle of the headlight, the other is on the inside. Hopefully this clears up any alightment issues for anyone else. Install was simple enough, but the headlights were horribly adjusted out of the box I struggled to reinstall the grille. Once I adjusted them properly I was impressed with the beam pattern and light cutoff for a non-factory housing. I used GE Knighthawk bulbs with the new housings and I can finally see at night in the rain!

Fit is almost perfect, but showed up with a crack in the back corner where a threaded screw goes thru. You cant see it from the front, and doesn't seem mess with the housing, but was unable to adjust High Beam. If this is the cause idk. Didn't need the bracket, just the headlight, and it worked as a good replacement without having to remove the grille and all of that mess...

My DriverSide was horribly cloudy due to a crack allowing water in and hazed the reflector. I tried alcohol trick but no luck. Lucky P-side was clear. I can see now :-)

Dorman makes good headlights but just like every aftermarket headlight and OEM too the clear is very poor. They last about 2 yrs and they will start to yellow because there is no hardener and UV protection in the clear coat. To protect them for 20 yrs plus reclear them with a good 2 part clear. Simply green scotch brite the lenses only and reclear them before installing and they will last a long long time.

Part looks identical to the previous one, quality seems good, everything lined up and was easy to install. Bonus that it comes with bulbs already if you need them. Price was great compared to other options. The adjustment screws really weren't that difficult to find and use. One of them was a star bit and the other was a normal phillips, which is a little odd. But both were able to adjust as needed without issue.

These headlight assemblies bolted right in with no modification. They seem fairly sturdy and well made. They are a big improvement over the existing headlights in my 1998 GMC 2500, which were quite cloudy. They even came with bulbs, although I will likey upgrade these in the future. I have had good luck with Dorman products and I definitely recommend these.

Direct swap out with the factory headlight assembly. The project took 15 minutes per side. The new Dorman assembly shipped with new 9006 (low beam) and 9005 (high beam) bulbs which was bonus. Good value for money to dress up an old GMT-400 cosmetically and headlight beam safety-wise.
