These were really hard to find. When I ordered I wasn't certain that it would work with my Taylor thermometer. I use the thing constantly and have had to replace the entire unit when the probe broke. And the probe will break. I've learned to not let it soak in dishwater after use. If water leaks into the probe it is gone...cannot be fixed.

I burned off the insulation on part of my thermometer probe (Taylor brand). So I got this one as a replacement. Plugged it. Temp is the same as the old one. So that's good. With that said, the cord is shorter than the old one by probably at least a foot. It's not the end of the world, but it may limit the functionality somewhat. May be worth measuring your existing probe and then asking how long this one is before buying it. So you can make sure it'll meet your needs.

These fit in almost any 2.5mm probe plug, they're always accurate and they last. They cost slightly more, but in the end you'll save money by not having to replace them. In fact the only time I've had one go out was when a steel door on a smoker got slammed on the cord hard enough to crease it. Be gentle and it will last.

Not a direct replacement Thermometer Probe. This probe has a vinyl sheathing on the cable, instead of the braided wire sheathing on the original probe. Which means, if the cable comes in contact with extreme heat (such as inside an oven), the sheathing will melt. Rendering the probe unusable. Also, the cable is substantially shorter than the original. I do not recommend purchasing this product.

I've been using this thermoprobe for several months to prepare hot beverages to drinking temperature and check the water temperature when proofing yeast. This probe has been very consistent in its measurements, accurate compared to a reference, and durable - the silicone sleeve protects the probe from accidental dunks, and the cable has resisted my best attempts to close the drawer on it! In practice though, I find the accidental dunk much less frequent - the the small silicone 'hook' on the probe works remarkably well for keeping the probe anchored to the side of the glass / cup / bowl. The cable is much longer than I've ever needed, but is flexible & easily coiled, and would be a good length for a wall-mounted probe. Cleaning is a breeze - the stainless steel probe can both be wiped down in seconds. The straight-form probe is also easy to store in tight spaces. All said and done, I'm extremely happy with this probe.

I was lost when I stuck my thermometer in our leg of lamb and it didn't work. You take one of your modern conveniences away and all hell breaks loose. This came in one day and restored things back to our first world problems!

item received is not as advertised. As you see, the probe is prone to liquid going inside and shortcutting the probe. Besides, there is no plastic handle. Poorly built and is a spoof. Cheating is a word that comes to mind.

This is the second time I've ordered these. The probe works well, and has pretty reasonable life; ca 1 year in normal use before the fine wires inside fail. It is 1 meter long, (ca 3 ft 3 in), and I find it is just a little too short to reach from the oven to the countertop, where I like to place the thermometer itself. I wish they made it about 1.5 meters, (ca 5ft), long.
