I was pleased that it was larger than I thought it would be, so I will be supplied with Ceylon cinnamon for quite some time. Although I had done my research, so I knew it would have a different taste from the Saigon cinnamon I had been using, I was surprised by the difference. This is a hot rather peppery cinnamon, not a sweet cinnamon. It will have a different use in my kitchen. Looking forward to the kick it will provide in a number of recipes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars ~~ If you don't like dregs in your drink then these sticks are for you! Recipe included below! ~~ *by R***Z on Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2016* For those looking to add flavor but no "bits" i.e. dregs of cinnamon powder in your drink then I would highly recommend these. If you are budget conscious though, these sticks are going to cost you WAY more than powdered cinnamon. Wanting to make Cranberry Wassail, the recipe I use calls for 3 sticks per half gallon. I make a gallon at a time! Experimenting with the sticks and then ground cinnamon I have discovered that 3 sticks is the equivalent to 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. With approximately 36 sticks in an 8oz jar, I could make 6 gallons of Wassail. Living on a tightish budget that's a little too expensive for us. We don't mind cinnamon dregs so we are going to use the ground Ceylon cinnamon from now on.How do these sticks perform? Well! As you can see from my pictures I boil the sticks with the cranberries for an hour. It is important then to strain the liquid. I found the sticks do uncurl a little and make some thick splinters. Excellent taste though. For half a gallon use:2 cups of cranberries3 cinnamon sticks1 tsp whole cloves2 doonks Stevia (very large pinches)1 tsp orange extractUse about 1 1/2 quarts of water to boil the cranberries, sticks and cloves in for about an hour. Strain, add Stevia to personal taste and orange extract and then top up to half gallon with water. Stir well. Although designed to be taken hot we actually prefer this cold from the fridge. (Recipe from Trim Healthy Mama.) The aroma that emanates from this mixture whilst cooking is simply delightful!SO these Ceylon Cinnamon sticks are wonderful releasing their flavor into the liquid they are boiled in. The quality is high and I would recommend if your budget allows. ORGANIC!I purchased these at full price. I was not required to write a review but chose to do so. Not great, not bad. My issue was with the open packaging it was delivered in. The box shown is supposed to be sealed but was about halfway opened and definitely by someone, not a packaging flaw.
