At first, I could not see from the picture if one side was in fact white, so I was a bit worried that I might have wasted my money if that had happened. However, the paper is a rich matte black finish with white on the reverse, so it really is perfect for penguins! The paper came with some free instructions to begin origami; these were folded animals which I didn't try, but there was also some free multi-coloured sheets which were very handy to practice on, and as a result I've got a few funky-coloured penguins as well! Also worth mentioning, I found 101 sheets of black paper in the pack, so a spare one if you mess up - which luckily I didn't as the paper is of a good quality and worked very well for the job in hand. Excellent value, would definitely recommend. Review: Not a perfect square - I've bought Folded Square papers numerous times. Usually, they are of great quality and the designs are quite stunning. For this reason, when I needed to fold a heap of penguins, I didn't hesitate but to buy from Folded Square again. However, this time I've not been happy. The paper simply was not a perfect square, which is imperative for origami.
