Apple Leather Care Leather Conditioner 8oz Bottle

Nice results on a leather jacket. No color change, and the leather softened nicely. Mild odor that went away quickly.

Apple Brand's leather care line is still my favorite, after all these years, so I thought I should take a moment and post a review for their conditioner. First recommended to me by a Franklin Covey representative, far enough in my past to make me feel very old, I have been using this product for almost as many years as Franklin planners. To date, having tried about ten or so of the various cleaners and conditioners out there, I have found that, for basic cleaning, light touch ups and conditioning, the Apple Conditioner, that's right Conditioner, actually works better than anything. For heavier soils, I use their cleaner and occasionally another, but, again, this conditioner works wonders. When buffed gently, with a soft cloth, it cleans. When wiped away and reapplied, buffing gently again, it moisturizes and sinks in. I often leave a thin layer for a half hour or so on difficult leathers that require too much moisture for just one treatment. Of course, this works wonders on my Franklin planner and it has never, ever, harmed anything I've treated with it. For lamb leather, a soft, unfinished leather, I can never get anything to gently clean away bits of discoloration without harming the leather, and so, I go off label and use a tiny amount of this, buffing gently and then wiping away after about ten seconds, on a lamb handbag from about fifteen years ago. I have found that careful application of this product keeps my favorite old bag as clean and supple as it can be, given how heavily I've used it, without ruining the leather. If you need to try this product for an unfinished leather, keep in mind that this product is specifically labeled as NOT to be used on unfinished leathers and remember to try it on a hidden and small spot, to buff gently but quickly and to wipe away after about ten seconds. It will look dark and damaged for a few minutes and then, after about ten, it will have dried to how the leather of your item will look if you treat with this product. Recent bought a "high end" leather purse that recommended a conditioner. Since the store was out of stock on their brand, I ordered this stuff. Great price, easy application and protects very well. Would highly recommend.

Amazon needs to update the review form to eliminate the sizing requirement, but in any case, here goes. This leather conditioner is amazing. I've been scared to use anything on my designer handbags for fear of ruining the leather, or changing its texture. I read on several designer purse forums and blogs that other women were having good experiences with Apple leather care conditioner, so I decided to give it a try. The most delicate of the bags I own is a Valentino Petale tote bag that is made of full-grained lambskin. It is buttery soft, but due to the delicacy (and bad experiences trying to condition other lambskin items I've owned in the past), I hadn't treated this bag at all since purchasing it several years ago. The handles were starting to crack on the edges and look worn, and I knew if I didn't do something soon, the bag would be damaged beyond repair. As soon as the Apple leather care conditioner arrived, I promptly began applying this with my fingertips. As I was applying it, particularly on the handles, I could immediately feel and see it getting absorbed into the lambskin, but also noticed that it was conditioning without changing its texture or color! As soon as I was done, I wiped off the excess residue (not that there was much excess residue, as the bag had absorbed nearly everything), I noticed that the cracks were nearly completely "filled" in and looked re-moisturized! They were supple again, and no longer looked or felt rough. I went on to apply to the rest of the handbag, and it did a beautiful job maintaining the suppleness without changing color, texture, and did not leave behind any weird residue. I also successfully used this on a pebbled leather diaper bag that has taken quite a lot of abuse, and the results there were also beautiful. I plan to use this on my other designer bags next. I have no doubt this will be able to safely condition any designer handbag.
