After serving over 20 years on active duty, I retired and hadn’t touched a weapon since 2008. I wanted something safe and effective to help me refresh my fundamentals, and this dry-fire system delivered. The setup was straightforward, the laser feedback is accurate, and it really did feel like getting back on the bike again. Within a short time, my muscle memory and technique started coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking to safely rebuild skills without live fire.

Very cool product when you can't get to the range works seems to be really accurate. I use with my green dot in my firearm good to have a lot of lots of lighting if possible for it to work really well if you're in the dark, forget about it you open the blinds you would be good or you can do it in the garage with the lights on

I love it! It’s like having a shooting range in your house. The laser fits perfectly into the barrel. With the target that it comes with you have to set it up with enough light to see the full target and it’s easy enough to see. The app tells you when you hit and where you hit. I shot pretty much all day and the battery is still going in the thing. The laser really stays inside the barrel and doesn’t slip out. It is the perfect set up to practice in your home and work on your trigger discipline. It’s easy to set up and fun to use with just you or a group of friends. When you pull the trigger the laser goes off and the app registers the shot. It is simple but you can’t beat the simplicity of how it functions. It’s simple pull the trigger laser goes off the app registers it and keeps a history of your shooting. Can’t beat the functionality of this gadget. With the two gaskets it locks the laser cartridge into the barrel and once the laser is pressed at the back it goes off. This works amazing and helps with your basic shooting skills.

It is cheaply made but is simple to set up and get to planking. I got mine in 9mm and tested it with my trusty 1911 that I am most practiced with. The lazer seems to be a fun inexpensive way to practice. It is simple to set up and get going. You need to set the target and your phone up close to eachother and on a level surface. Once you get going it becomes voice activated so when one session ends you can easly begin a second one. You can see where the laser hits when you fire and hear what ring it hits over the speaker. I tried it supported and un supported and it seems to score fairly. I dont think this will be very effective if you plan to train with a rifle but for a pistol its nice Overall I do like it. I did knock it down from 5 to 4 just because it seems rather cheaply made.

The Strikeman 9mm Dry-Fire Laser Training System is a great way to practice and maintain firearm fundamentals without spending money on ammunition or range time. It’s an extremely useful tool for keeping skills sharp that can degrade over time without consistent practice. This system allows you to work on proper grip, trigger control, target acquisition, transitions, and common drills that normally require live fire, such as the failure drill (two to the chest, one to the head/box), field drills, and other law enforcement, FBI, or civilian defensive training exercises. One of the biggest benefits for me personally was realizing that I was the reason my shots were consistently landing left of the target—I had been blaming the gun when in reality I was making a fundamental error. After using this system, I was able to correct my technique, and that improvement transferred directly to live fire at the range. That said, there are some drawbacks. The app can be finicky when it comes to calibration, and if it isn’t set up properly, shots that are clearly a 10 can sometimes register as a 9 or even an 8. Lighting also matters—if there isn’t enough ambient light, the app may struggle to register shots consistently. The price is a little higher than expected considering you only receive one target and one laser cartridge; including alternate targets with the base package would significantly improve the value. I also wish the app included a shot timer with an audible beep so you could practice drawing from the holster, working on speed versus precision, and refining smooth trigger control under time pressure. The system is generally very universal across 9mm firearms, but I did notice some variation depending on the platform. With Glock and Canik pistols, the laser was very reliable, durable, long lasting battery, and consistent. However, with a Taurus, the laser trajectory sometimes shifted after re-racking the slide, causing point-of-impact inconsistencies. Overall, despite the app's quirks and minor hardware limitations, not so good sound effects, however, this is a very effective training tool that provides real feedback and meaningful improvement, making it well worth using for dry-fire practice.

When I first purchased the Strikeman laser system I was incredibly happy. For 2 weeks. In my 3rd week of ownership/usage after an app update, the iPhone app become unusable after every single use. After one use, if you tried to open the app again to use it, it goes to a black screen and closes. This requires a full app uninstall, phone recycle and reinstall of the app. After doing this, you get one usage of the app and it does the same behavior as above and requires a reinstall. I’ve left detailed feedback on the Apple App Store four times and the dev team only replies that they are aware of the issue. This feedback is all over the App Store review section, so it isn’t just my product. No timeline on a fix, just yep we know about it. This has gone on for 2 months. After the latest attempt (July 13, 2025) at reinstalling the app, it will now no longer register any laser strikes on the targets outside of 10 feet. Inside if 10 feet, it now only registers roughly half of the laser strikes. You can see the laser hit the bullseye through your optic and the app won’t register the strike. The platform on iPhone iOS is now completely unusable. I’ve communicated with Strikemans customer service, who are great, but they’re at the mercy of a terrible development team. Unfortunately, the platform is dependent on a functioning and reliable app. If you are an iPhone user, stay far away from Strikeman products. Their main competitor has much better reviews here and on the App Store. Sadly, I went from very satisfied to considering the entire platform a waste of money and time because of a terrible development team. One more thing, I purchased the 223 laser cartridge directly from Strikeman and I got roughly 200 strikes before the cartridge became deformed and now no longer functions. 200 strikes and a throw away for a $70 cartridge.
