The surge-XL blaster is one of the beat in the market. The description provided by the seller is perfectly accurate and it comes in a very sturdy packaging. The blaster is extremely powerful so I would advise parental caution for children below 16. There is a tool inside which can be used to adjust the power of the gun to make it safer for kids. If you are an adult gel blaster fan like me, then the full power will give you the most fun. The gun itself is very sturdy and a medium weight. Works like magic and too much fun to play with. I love it a lot. It comes with pre grown pellets inside it’s hopper, sealed to protect the balls. Just charge the battery and it’s good to go. Item came 3 days late but it was authentic and brilliant.

Okay, so I started with a brand synonymous for there foam flinging blasters, but had actually heard of this one first for the gel blasting kind. It’s a fantastic and fun toy that the whole family enjoys. I have purchased several of each now for everyone, and have the XL for myself, to test. The added FPS over the N brand doesn’t seem to make all that much difference in range, accuracy, or felt pain. Not sure the larger hopper makes for longer play time either as in single fire mode, I still tend to see 2-3 fully sized gellets come out. 3-5 with the 3 round burst, and I’ll assume full auto is fine. Accuracy on it seems about the same as any blaster without a hop up on it, but I’d say still marginally better accuracy and range than an off the shelf foam dart blaster toy. Size and use is great for older kids or adults, however, the other branded one I have is convertible and in my opinion equally suitable for use in the same way. Where this blaster really shines is the fire mode selector and the trigger. While small, it only needs a finger tip to work and is as easy to push as anything. It also fires as fast as I can pull it. The other brand, it seems to have a better single fire, however the trigger is “mushy” and has a delay when firing. Single fire with the XL for the win, but the not really single round is a slight negative. I believe this has to do with how the sensor to keep the firing piston is oriented. With N brand, it is cycled to stay closed and the XL stays open. I believe this allows more rounds to fall in during play and get fired out. While some reviews out there have mentioned N jams and the XL doesn’t…eh, I have issues with them both. Seems inherent with gravity fed blasters. Maybe a slight edge to the XL, and I’d have to guess that has to to do with a fractionally wider hopper opening. Where this one has a whole category the other can’t touch is night time play. You can see the gellets during the day to help you aim, but at night, or let’s say even dusk, there’s no way to see them blast out. You will need and you will want some tracer rounds and only Gel Blaster seems to have that. Get the night version or at least the added part to charge up the glow rounds. They work very well and add to the play time and a new aspect of the fun playing in the dark.

It’s sturdy and fun. Very easy to use and pretty good aim. It shoots very fast. My husband shot me in the back with the glow in the dark ammo at about 5 feet away and I got a little bruise lol. I would not let a kid under 10 use it where they were shooting at each other. It’s would be a super fun groomsmen gift

Best thing since sliced bread. Never jams, very good range and hard enough to hurt and leave a welt, without having bruising for days. I love this thing. I used it in the house for days and there is no real mess once the balls dry up. Great investment. Lasts forever on a charge.

This is a blast, with pun only partly intended. This Gel Blaster can be used on single mode, three round bursts, and full automatic. The ammo is a non toxic, I think/assume, gel beads about twice the size of BB's, costs next too nothing are frangible and explode into nothingness on impact to most objects. Beware the power on this is higher than what you might expect from a toy. The power can be adjusted from low to high with a special key that comes with the gun, so a parent can adjust the velocity of the gel BBs from low to high. It's highly advised to wear the included safety glasses which are also included if you plan on shooting at one another, similar to paintball. Though no worry of clothing getting all splattered with paint as again these gel beads that it shoots are really just 99% water. The gel beads are grown from tiny gelatin specks about the size of grains of sand. Do NOT let your kids shoot at any animals or wildlife as on higher power settings, there is more than enough power to easily injure or even kill small birds and wildlife. These gel beads could certainly severely damage a pets or wildlife eyes as well as your own. This is not a toy to be used by any younger children, say 12 or under.
