It's as soft as ... *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2016* Not even close to 4lb. It's as soft as egg shell foam. It does make my bed a bit softer and might help with sleep. I will try it out for a few nights to see if it's all I need, but it is definitely not as advertised.Edit: It's been only two days on this topper and I can't stand it. It provides NO support and I toss and turn frequently. I'm 165 lbs at 6'2" with a ruptured disk in my neck.My previous experience with memory foam (which was high density 3.5lb gel) was a $100 topper i got on sale in a local store (originally $180). It took a few days to air out, and a few days to expand fully. This topper expanded in SECONDS and had no smell at all. I literally took it straight out of the package and it was ready to go. The package being nothing more than plastic wrap and a cheaply black and white photo copied piece of paper with warranty details. I find it a little sad that a company can't do better than cheap plastic wrap and horribly photocopied pieces of paper. I mean the photocopies are even terrible quality. This company clearly does not care about the quality of their producs. The paper was literally wrapped in plastic wrap to the topper all crinkled up.When I awoke every morning on my old topper I hadn't moved an inch. My old topper lasted several years too. It was hard to roll over because it hugged me so well. This, however doesn't do anything but make your bed more fluffy.For the past two days of this product, I have woken up in much worse pain than before. I was going to give it a week, but this product is horrible, and the manufacturer lies about its quality. I will be reporting them for fraud. This product will be returned.Don't buy this. It's far too soft and causes more back pain. I take my two stars and make it one. Based on previous reviews it could have been anything from 'it makes me overheat' to 'its heaven in a bag'.For us this really did nothing. I felt no improvement in my sleeping habits or effects on sleeping and neither did my wife.
