This way, the LED lights on the unit are not visible.Some devices do switch automatically when they are turned on from standby mode but others don't as they are powered on all the time, e.g. Amazon Fire Stick, so using the remote is necessary.We have a small computer (in standby when not in use), a blu-ray player, and a Sky box linked through this to a sound bar which is in turn linked to a full HD TV.
