After reading a few reviews on this product I did not use the included scanning software and bought a copy of Silverfast SE. The SE version of Silverfast is very easy to use with this scanner and includes colour correcting filters for Kodachrome. The dust and scratch removal tools in Silverfast work very well in the 200 slides I have scanned so far. It's also worth noting the scanner I received came with a copy of Photoshop Elements 12 which I was not expecting. Review: Poor Reliability - My scanner failed with a severe hardware fault after only 1 month of limited use. It seems cheaply made from plastic and the mechanical noises it makes do not inspire confidence. The bundled Cyberview scanning software is of limited use and you will need to buy more capable scanning software (e.g. Silverfast). It does however produce very good scans when you learn how to use it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by B***5 on 31 May 2019* Als ich den ProScan 10T auspackte, wollte ich nicht glauben, dass dieses nur 27 x 16 cm große Teil (nur unwesentlich größer als ein Kassettenrekorder aus den 1980er-Jahren!) die Scanqualität eines Nikon Coolscan 5000ED erreicht – aber er tut es! Es rattert und knarrt zwar bei jedem Scan-Durchgang, als bliebe das Teil im nächsten Augenblick stehen, aber nach 2 bis 3 Minuten (je nach dpi-Einstellung) zaubert der Pro10T ein bestechend scharfes Bild auf den Monitor. Mein Gerät (gekauft im November 2014) funktioniert auch nach über 3500 Scans noch. Das beigelegte Cyberview-Programm von Reflecta taugt zur groben Farbbestimmung und zur Beseitigung von Staub und Kratzern – mehr nicht. Die Menüs der Software wirken auf meinem iMac (Betriebssystem High Sierra) wie aus der Kinderzeit der Apple-Software (siehe Fotos). Wesentlich komfortabler kann man mit Silverfast scannen. Um eine Nachbearbeitung in Photoshop kommt man aber auch hier nicht herum, denn die Farben und Kontraste müssen auch bei diesem Programm individuell optimiert werden. Wer mit Cyberview scannt, sollte das stets mit einer JPG-oder TIFF- Qualität von 100 tun. Bei Auto-Belichtung, Auto-Balance, Auto-Kontrast, Multi-PassXPosure und Magic Touch kann man bedenkenlos Kreuzchen machen. Von AutoColor würde ich abraten, denn das verfälscht die Farben, insbesondere bei Schwarz-Weiß-Negativen. Das unschlagbare Plus des ProScan 10T: Scannt man mit einer Auflösung von 7500 dpi ein, so wird aus einem 3,25 x 2,38 cm großen Negativ bei Umrechnung auf druckfähige 300 dpi eine Datei mit Bildmaßen von 81,28 x 59,57 cm (siehe Fotos). Eine Datei hat dann ca. 180 MB. Die Bildinhalte können dadurch ohne Schärfeverlust bis zu einer Größe von A1 auf Fotopapier gedruckt werden. Auf dem Monitor kann jedes Bilddetail (zum Beispiel ein Gesicht) formatfüllend vergrößert werden. Bei Vergleichen mit Scans, die ich 2004 mit einem Nikon Coolscan 5000ED gemacht habe, sah ich allenfalls Unterschiede in den Nuancen von großen Schwarzflächen. Die Schärfe und Farbsättigung sind beim ProScan 10T sogar besser – aber das ist eine subjektive Beurteilung, die nicht auf Laborwerten fußt.
