This indeed works. Every plant grower should have one of these!
I purchased the blue ph meter which comes with only one probe. If you are using test strips, chemical tests, or those 2 prong moisture/light/ph readers to test your soil, please, throw them out and buy this. I wish that I had discovered this years ago. It is way, way more accurate than those other tests, and so much less time consuming to use. I often would procrastinate about testing ph because it was so laborious to use the chemical tests. This meter gives you answers almost immediately, and all you need to do is wipe it down and it is ready to use again. I can test 20 plants in the time that it used to take me to test 1, AND, get much more reliable results. I now know that the chemical solutions that I have been using were just plain wrong. This meter immediately helped me to resolve a problem by revealing that the large bag of potting soil that I was using had an extremely low ph of 4.7 (normal is about 6.0-7.0). The crappy chemical test told me it was 7.5! I then confirmed this by testing all of my container plants. All of the recent transplants that used this poor soil had similar low readings, while containers that did not use that soil had expected readings. I was immediately able to repot those plants using a soil with a higher ph, which I confirmed using this meter, and all of my plants are doing much, much better now. This meter was worth every penny I spent. I highly recommend it.

Game Changer, no more guessing.
If you’re looking for a reliable way to take the guesswork out of your garden, this Soil pH Tester is an absolute must-have. It offers impressive accuracy for a tool, giving you consistent, actionable readings that help prevent costly nutrient lockouts. The high-contrast, color-coded interface is a win for readability, allowing you to check your levels at a glance even in direct sunlight. Beyond the performance, the value is unbeatable it’s a buy it once tool that requires no charging or calibration fluids. It has a sleek, professional appearance and a slim profile that makes storage in a tool bag or drawer effortless. Sturdy enough for dense soil and simple enough for a beginner, it’s the most cost-effective way to ensure your plants are actually sitting in the right environment to thrive.

Works 👍
Really satisfied.! I have to admit I wasn’t sure how the soil probe would work and if it would be accurate. Tested it against a few other types of Ph testers plus using a slurry test to get an accurate number before just sticking the probe in the soil. Every test wasn’t perfect but it’s within a few hundredths of the more expensive Ph meter I was using so for the price definitely worth it.

Good Product!
This is an easy to read, easy to calibrate and accurate pH tester. It is very sturdy. It comes with easy to understand instructions and the shipping box keeps the pH tester secure. My only complaint might be that it include a smaller storage box for safekeeping. The shipping box, though nice, is a bit bulky and not practical. I've had this pH reader for a couple months now and it has worked flawlessly for my gardens. Very happy with this product.

It stopped working after 8 months
I don't know if it can be fixed. I don't think the probe is the problem because it won't connect to the app via Bluetooth. Replacing the batteries didn't help. The probe looks to be in good condition. I've taken good care of it. It just stopped working. The main problem is it shows the same pH value, no matter what I do. It seems to get stuck on a value and stays there. Even the calibration solutions show the same value. This was bad for me because I didn't realize right away that it was faulty. It looked like it was working. So, for I don't know how long, I've been giving my plants water with an unknown pH. This is very bad for my crops. I don't like giving a product a one-star rating, but a correct pH is important. My experience is that this tester can't be trusted.

Forget about the app!
Once I completed the 45 minutes of getting the thing ready via calibration with 3 different pH calibration Solutions, I had multiple soil samples to test. It seems fairly accurate, however the app did not work at all. I was trying to save pH numbers and write them on which sample was not able to save any data. Once pH levels were red they would then disappear very frustrating.

At last: one that works! Finally.
Finally! One that works! Yes! I'd about given up on this. Plus it's not really more expensive than those that don't. I've used it now on maybe 50 or so spots, and am really sold. I've compared it to spots we've had tested by two different mail-in labs, and they agree nicely. Also have used it on other properties where I have some idea of what to expect, and it got it right. Something I like a lot is that you don't have to calibrate it using all three points for lawn use; it's more than close enough if you simply check it with the 7.0 solution for that purpose. So we have a Ball jar of that one solution, and before using dunk it in there. Haven't need to change the stock calibration as it's within .1 or so, and that's more than sufficient for turf use - way more. So please: don't get those types that have the two probes out the bottom - there's a ton of them that look alike - they just don't get it right and are wildly inconsistent, changing while you watch. Pro tip: with the stainless protector on (the only sane way to use this fragile bulb), take a measurement, poke out the dirt with the brush, rinse it back & forth in a bucket, brush it clean some more, blow on it hard to clear out any remaining water, then move on to your next test. Don't hurry the cleaning> And again: treat the bulb gently - brush only! A fragile instrument.
