2nd time ordering this for Nako.. I had to get her another one because she does not like it when I have to take it from her to charge it. She doesn't understand that it has to be charged it's just the only knows that I'm taking it from her and she lets me know how she feels about it. This time when I bought the toy - it arrived quickly however the speaker would not record and I had to have it replaced. The replacement came quickly and I was able to charge it and record a message and swap the toys so that she never has to be without it. I really want to take one star away because there is only one function with this: One recording up to a minute long and that's it. You can record a message and rerecord it anytime at your leisure. It is chargeable with its included C charge cord. I can appreciate that the work that has gone into this toy for a parrot was very thoughtful. I believe it is very high quality and extremely durable with excellent material and workmanship. This product has captured every bit of a safe environment and interactive toy for your pet. I believe even the most destructive bird would not be able to damage this, not easily anyway. Nako, my African gray has been a little crazy wanting a baby. She had gotten really sick a year ago and almost lost her but after nursing her back to being better she came out of it with some bad habits and (mostly my fault) she was laying eggs and then staying on them forever and I hated to take them away but eventually I would have to do that. Recently she decided she was going to lay on a recorder that I had gotten for speech training! Right! She is crazy. When I saw this toy I thought this might cheer her up and boy did it Wow! There's no volume adjust on it either and the only way that you can control the volume is with your speech while you are recording your message so if you don't want it very loud you need to bring the voice down to it more of a whisper and if you wanted to be louder than obviously you have to put more voice into it She is the neediest bird on the planet, spoiled rotten had to be petted yes petted constantly. She has not asked once for attention loving or hugging since I gave this to her, (now I'm the one begging her to let me hold her LOL ) She loves and adores the fact that she can hear me in her cage anytime she wants with just a flick of the beak or a touch I like to believe that it keeps her company and calm while she is alone. It is a nice size stainless steel and it functions as it should. It would be nice if you could record more but obviously in this case she is content with just a little bit of talking from me. I promised her that I would record my voice in different sayings and leave them behind if something should happen to me of course lol

Absolutely great! Made cockatoo proof. She plays it constantly and her noise level has diminished due to this great environmental enrichment toy!!! Love the ease of being able to record new phrases, songs, etc. the goffin cockatoo is very active and loves this toy. It's made extremely well for her strong beak. Will buy another one for my umbrella cockatoo. Totally advise for large hookbills! Super. Would give 10 stars!

This item arrived in a re-taped box. It had been obviously been used. The item itself, however, appeared to be in new condition, and after erasing the previous owners recording, was acceptable. This unit is easy to use, and comes with a carabiner to connect to the cage. The controls are accessed by unscrewing the back off the unit. You can then charge, turn the unit off or on, and record your message. Playback is a wee bit fuzzy, but pretty close to my voice. It comes with a cable to recharge the unit. The unit lasts a long time unless your bird plays with it constantly. It is activated when moved. There is a bell, (mine without a clabber), that your bird can play with and activates the unit. Time will tell how well it works in teaching phrases to my bird. I rated 4 stars, as the unit was not New.

This is one of the best gadgets for birds. Although my little (very large) stinker didn’t want anything to do with it except try to take it apart, I gave it to a friend and her bird loves it.

Excellent producto

I have had this for a month. In the beginning, it recorded and played back accordingly well every time my bird touched the bell. Now, I am having problems with it either turning ON by itself and playing non stop! (Which I would physically need to turn the device OFF.) I reset it, re-recorded and charged it, and it is very temperamental now, as to whether it activates or not, when my bird touches the bell. I am very disappointed, especially since my return window date closed 7 days ago, and I am now stuck with it. Plus it was $40, not cheap !! :(

My only complaint is that the speaker isn't very clear and sometimes it just goes off randomly, but it is clear enough for my African Gray. She loves batting and whacking the toy around and triggering the speaker. Most toys she is happy with for a while and then seems to get bored. This one, she goes back to all throughout the day. When I go to change her toys, she can get somewhat aggressive, but this one, she sees me reach for it and she backs away. She watches me studiously while I change the sound and then goes after it with renewed interest once it's rehung and my arm is out of her way. It's fun! I love it!

Installed this for over 4 months now and battery is still lasting. My quaker parrot loves it and uses it when he wants to get my attention. Highly recommend

It's actually really good. My M2, Henry, plays with it a lot, although doesn't seem to be copying it yet. Make sure you screw the back on tight, Henry managed to unscrew it after a few days, which really suprised me.

I have recorded a long clip of me talking but I think my birb is gonna need psychiatric support as it keeps going off every 5 seconds with little movement 😂😂😂. At first I set it in a different location and my birb started to investigate it! I think it depends where you hang it will adjust the sensitivity! It's soo funny 😂 Great little gadget and solidly built. Happy with purchase and quick delivery from the USA.

My conure loves this toy so much. I can hear him awake at 1am playing with it 🤦🏻‍♀️
