How about a video showing the product being used instead of a video with someone describing it? Wouldn't that be more helpful to a potential buyer?

I agree. I bought one for my sister, but she didn't find it useful--maybe a video would have given her some tips on how to use it. Long story short, I returned it.

my wife has only use of her left side. would this be helpful to get out of bed?

I use my left side to pull myself up. What I'm not sure of is, once she gets up, moving to the side of the bed and standing up? Also, I'm 5'4" and weigh 170 lbs. and it works great for me. I hope this helps.
