EXTREMELY good value with very rugged construction + MUCH SAFER to carry a sharp pick when hiking!
Safest way to carry a rock pick hammer by far!!. I had used several methods including a hammer holder for my belt that was cheap however its for such as carpenters not for a rock pick hammer which while hiking the head and sharp pick of the hammer was totally exposed and spinning around always changing positions. a person can have many types of falls some extreme and the sharp end of the hammer could kill you or impale organs. This made me nervous all the time so I sprung for the proper holder and its like a monkey is off my back. The head of the hammer with its sharp end IS CONTAINED. The riveted end where the point is is extremely sturdy and the pick end would be safely contained no matter how extreme of a fall it was. Nothing could make the pick come through the case! Even to carry or transport the hammer ITS BETTER OFF IN THE CASE such as you would with an ax. It prevents it from damaging or impaling items. It looks pro with the estwing name and is really well made at at a low price. I dont know how they make a profit on it. It has almost no weight. I do long distance dangerous climbing type hikes in the desert and now that I have this holder makes me realize what a risk I was taking the past few hikes. That is why I signed back on to leave this review. I am going to get another one because I have a couple of the same size rock picks.
