Fantastic headset! Great value for money!
I'm rather picky when it comes to headsets, but I'm also very frugal and want value for money. Gaming headset prices seem to have rocketed skyhigh over the last few years with a huge selection available costing more than £100. I'm on a fixed income and just cannot justify spending more than £50 on a headset. Thankfully, I don't have to as this headset is a fantastic value for money. Plantronics may not be a huge name in PC gaming equipment yet, but they have a reputation for making high quality telephony equipment for the office/home office for years. I was looking for a headset that would have a high quality microphone to make voice and video calls via Skype, as well in-game communication using software like Teamspeak, and Ventrilo - as well as delivering great sound and music. This headset delivers on all fronts. The microphone is sensitive enough to pick up audio even when speaking softly, yet it doesn't transmit any breathing sounds,or sniffles when I had a cold. The 7.1 emulation sounds great in movies and games designed for it. The best advice I can give when choosing a headset, is to actually try them out first if you can. Comfort is something that is often overlooked, until it's too late, and you've had the thing on your head for 2-3 hours, and your ears now feel as big as an elephants, and that lightweight headband seems to have gained a few pounds. I was a little hesitant over the square-ish look to the cans on this headset, but they fit my ears nicely with adequate padding. The overall weight isn't too heavy, and the headband itself is padded for extra comfort over those marathon gaming sessions, I would gladly recommend this headset to anyone. They are a fantastic value for money.

2+ Years Later and Still Going Strong!
I'd just like to start the review by saying I'm not an audiophile or someone who cares about incredible sound quality. If I was, I'd be looking at much more expensive headsets before this one. I'm just a gamer who bought this as a general purpose headset. I've had this headset for just over two years and three months now, and it's been the best headset I've ever owned for a computer. I'd went through several trash headsets before this one, seeming to need a new pair every single year because they'd all be flimsy or brittle, then end up having to fork over another £40 every single year despite not mistreating them in any way. I bought this pair after getting sick of being them from physical retailers. My budget was £40 as always for a headset, and this is what I bought. The sound quality on the headset is pretty great, you can do all of your general tasks in addition to gaming with complete satisfaction, at least in my opinion. It was a lot higher quality than the pair I'd owned before, and even though I've never used it all that much it comes with Dolby Surround Sound, which you can activate from the program the device comes with or the little button on the headset itself. The microphone is also pretty good for being attached to a headset, being nice enough to use to talk to friends just fine. Of course, if you wanted something higher quality for something like recording purposes, you'd obviously want something separate. You could probably get away with streaming using this if you really wanted to though, you'd just have to fiddle with the settings. It's also extremely well built, although it was really small when I first started using it, but after some time it'd stretched to the point where it doesn't hurt my head after long periods. The wire connecting the USB to the headset is really thick compared to other headsets I've used, and it's pretty long by default too. The plastic on the device is pretty high quality too, not being the brittle and nasty stuff found on some headsets I've used, where you'll hear it squeaking and grinding each time you move your head. The cups for the ears are really comfortable as well, and are padded with a felt type material for extra snugness. If I was to think of any downsides to the headset, I don't think I'd really have any major ones. The only minor thing I'd change is the size, so it doesn't start off feeling so constricting and painful to wear. Overall, this is the best headset I've ever owned. I resent paying a huge amount for a headset due to them always seeming to break within a year, and in that respect this one has been an absolute bargain. If my current pair were to break one day, I wouldn't hesitate to get the exact same ones again, they've been that good.

Nice, but flawed.
The 780 is a great headset. It's got nice clear sound, the mic is crisp and clean, the build seems solid, and it's got lots of nice features. It's also very comfortable, and even with my glasses I don't feel the need to take the headset off even with extended sessions. They look great, and the colours and styling is really pleasing. The buttons on the headset also seem very responsive, and they don't strike me as being button types that would break easily - but time will tell, I suppose. Now for the bad - the headset is flawed in a few ways. The first annoyance is a trade-off: the USB connection. The USB connection means that they can have lots of fancy features for the mic (like the surround), that simply wouldn't be possible on a traditional headphone/mic jack. However, it also means that you're resigned to only using it on a pc. It can't be used on an xbox, or with your TV, or your standard music player, for instance, because of the interface and the need for drivers. This is definitely annoying. Another annoyance is that, contrary to its advertised 'noise cancelling microphone', the mic actually picks up a *lot* of background noise, and likewise any audio playing through the headset is audible to others even at a low volume. Another issue you'll want to be aware of is the drivers themselves. The drivers and software that come with the disk are out of date, and if you use them on Windows 7, the headset software will crash every 30 minutes or so (it varied, for me), meaning you have to do a restart before they work again. Normally, I'd install straight from the website and skip the disk, but I actually found the location of the drivers almost impossible to find - eventually locating a link on a forum somewhere. Since the updated drivers have been installed (obviously, following a wipe of the old ones), I've had no problems with crashing software.

Prima Headset.

For the price (I paid €40) it was really a bargain. Wireless headset with good quality mic and decent sound quality. Very good for gaming because of low latency (I didn't measure but I don't feel any difference to wired sets) and great range (easily whole flat). Thanks to proprietary wireless dongle I guess (no bluetooth sh*t). Music is also quite enjoyable what was a nice surprise for me. Other pros: good control buttons on left ear-cup, mic-off function, decent battery life (10h), no drivers needed. For the cons: they are not very comfortable but one can get used to (over ear design) and there is some quiet but constant radio hiss (drawback of wireless technology) heard when no signal is fed.
