Synthesizing over thirty years of advances into a comprehensive textbook, Biomolecular Crystallography describes the fundamentals, practices, and applications of protein crystallography. Deftly illustrated in full-color by the author, the text describes mathematical and physical concepts in accessible and accurate language. It distills key concepts for understanding the practice and analysis of protein crystal structures and contains examples of biologically-relevant molecules, complexes, and drug target structures. Biomolecular Crystallography will be a valuable resource for advanced undergraduate and graduate students and practitioners in structural biology, crystallography, and structural bioinformatics. Review: Good book - The books is great, but mine arrived with the corners folded. Review: This must be very high quality - This book must be very high quality. I see it days and nights on student's desks and in the labs.

Probably the only book on Biomolecular Crystallography you'll ever need!
Bernhard Rupp is best known as a famous biomolecular crystallographer and the creator of the teaching website "Crystallography 101". This book follows on from and compliments the excellent teaching material online for those wanting an introduction to the science as well those who wish to brush up on the basics of crystallography in a biological setting. Each chapter of the book is well laid out, beautifully illustrated and serves up all the critical information necessary for someone starting out in biomolecular crystallography - from the principles of X-ray diffraction through to data collection, phasing, structure determination, validation and interpretation. The vast range of subjects are covered without diluting the scientific or mathematical foundations of modern crystallography. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in protein crystallography as a valuable reference book or for someone who wants a comprehensive introduction to the subject.

Great book
This is one of the best crystallography books you can buy. It actually goes into some practical detail contrasted with most books that are 90% theory and just skim over practical stuff. Lots of useful pictures to try to explain the very abstract concepts involved. Also, I bought it from the Amazon seller Bookera (based in India) for $50 cheaper than buying it directly from Amazon for a brand new, still sealed hardcover book. I had it expedited for $7 and it arrived in 4 days. There was some very minor damage to the cover, I imagine from the knot being too tight, but it's otherwise in perfect condition.

Good MX overview
A very good and comprehensive introduction, which is nicely written. Especially the important statistics part is well treated (something which is missing in other books). Clear recommendation!

Crystallographer book
Necessary for crystallographers students. Although I'm chemist, I understood many things from this book
