Sonos Era 100 - White - Wireless, Alexa Enabled Smart Speaker

I absolutely love my Era 100’s. I got a pair of them a couple months ago and have them on either side of my living room and after room tuning, they sound perfect anywhere in the room and push a very surprising amount of sub bass to fill the room! All without crushing the mid or top ranges too much (something I find “smart speakers” do often). The sync when putting speakers a long distance from one another, like in a room across is also great, makes it feel like the music is everywhere walking between rooms. Some people have had issues with the sonos app which I didn’t have too too much of, however a majority of the time I use spotify connect which works flawlessly! Overall I highly highly recommend these speakers and plan to eventually get a couple more across my home!

Négatif :très bon pour la musique mais si c'est pour écouter des podcast, il vaut mieux désactiver le surplus de basse dans application car sinon le son est trop sourd.

Bought mine for the line-in function (for a nice simple CD player). There’s a known bug that stops it from auto playing (they hid the workaround in a software update too, so you can’t patch it). Only way to get it to auto play is to unplug the USB-C and plug it in again. And yeah, it’s easy to install the speaker, but the Sonos app no longer plays nicely with the Spotify app so now you have to run it from inside Sonos. I honestly hate these wireless systems than supposedly run on your home network or wifi. I think I’m going back to wired that just bloody work!

Ok, here i am to give my honest review of my Sonos Era 100. I have good and bad points to make with this, but i knew it was not perfect before i purchased it. I bought this anyway for the sound quality and not really the extra voice features since i already have the Alexa i use. Just do not expect this to operate like the Alexa because it does not. At least not for me. And what i do not like about the Sonos is that for the voice you have to say, "HEY SONOS." and you cannot just say Sonos, you have to use both words. Alexa i can use just one wake word to use it and even change it, with the Sonos you cannot. Even though i got the Alexa app to work with the Sonos which i wanted to try anyway, it was a major disappointment, you hear the Alexa voice, but it would not operate any of my lights with Sonos. Not a major issue anyway since i already have it working with 2 Alexa units already. But if you are buying this for the Alexa feature, its a disappointment. Now for the sound. I heard so many good reviews about the audio quality so i had to give this a shot. The speaker was actually smaller than expected, but do not let that fool you. The sound was excellent quality and the music sounds very separated with the vocal and music which sounds great, and much louder too. I am using the Sonos speaker for my computer and basically music. I am now going to give you another honest review when comparing this to the Newer Echo devices. Buy the echo devices if you are wanting it for the home lights and tv use, but do not expect the audio quality like the Sonos has. Both the Echo and Sonos have good points, this is why i have both. Alexa for my lights and news and weather, however, if its audio you are looking for, i would spend the extra money for the Sonos and skip the Echo devices. Plus i do like the small size that does make it easy for Sonos to be placed just about anywhere. The bottom line with my review, if you want audio quality, then Sonos is for you. If you want to voice activate lights then the Echo's are better. But i have no regrets at all about buying this Sonos speaker.
