Works brilliantly!
Absolutely fantastic product! I host cream teas in our village for two days in July and, as we keep the doors to the garden open, usually get lots in flies in the kitchen (it used to be a barn). I've tried other products but this was great - I put it just outside the door and it caught huge numbers of flies. We had maybe one fly in the kitchen which was such an improvement. Very occasionally I noticed the smell (disgusting) but moved it out of the way and it still caught them. It's still catching them a week later. I will definitely be buying more bait and looking forward to a fly free summer!

Disgustingly amazing
I purchased this for in door use, as i had fly issue in the back of the house After a few days the smell was disgusting and it wasn't being that effective so I moved it outside, just out of the way. Within a couple of days the trap was fully active, capturing flies at an amazing rate. the house remained clear of most flies (just not the really really small ones). This is highly recommended - if you want it for a BBQ or specific date, its worth setting up a few days in advance as it takes some time for it to get going.

It attracts flies!!!!!!
A great product, it really does attract the flies. It stinks, which i guess is why it works so well, but chucked mine out as I don't know if it does too well a job attracting them and some choose then to go investigate elsewhere.

Wow
You have to wait as the smell gets stronger overtime but I couldn't believe my eyes when I came home from work and there was this black thick line of dead flies in the bottle on the third day. We bought two fly traps at the same time the other is a different make and consists of a bag and this had hardly caught anything. This is definitely worth the money

Useless
Total lack of interest from flies and total disappointment for me.

Effective, but stinks!
I got this in desperation as we seem to be getting hit with a plague of medium sized black bodied flies that have no interest in the UV zapper in our kitchen. It doesn't contain pesticides, and instead uses some bait which is covered by water. The odour of the bait still escapes the water and lures the flies in. The lid has four small holes and the flies don't seem to be able to find their way back out, and eventually drown. If I were rating purely on this traps ability to catch and kill flies, it would get five stars without a doubt. The flies absolutely love it, although it seemed to take around 24 hours for the bait odour to really get going and start attracting them. The problem is, the bait absolutely stinks! I came home from work on day two and my house reeked of rotting meat. I was searching all over the place wondering had been left out to go bad. After putting out the bins and scrutinising every item in my fridge, my wife eventually realised the putrid smell was coming from the fly trap. I immediately dumped it outside about twelve feet from our back door, with the intention of disposing of it later. The smell is so bad that it's really noticeable even from twelve feet away as you go in or out of the door. I have marked it down for this reason. Despite how great it is at catching flies, it's useless to me if it stinks like festering meat.

Effective!
These represent the best £8 I've ever spent. They keep flies from the house and off the cats. They work best in hot, humid weather. They don't smell as bad as some people say, although emptying them is an interesting experience. The refills are very expensive but I suspect it is bonemeal or fish food by the smell of it.

We ordered this fly trap because we kept having flies bite us as we sat at our patio drying off after getting out of pool. First day I got it, in the morning I hung it under the eaves of our tractor shed. That afternoon we all hopped in the pool which is near the patio and both are maybe 400 ft. from the shed. My wife suddenly turned around and asked me "What IS THAT?" I pointed to the corner of the shed. I guess the wind had changed direction or something because suddenly she was gagging. I told her where I had hung it and she insisted I get out of the pool then and there and take it "far, far away". When I went to move it, it was already almost 1/3 full of flies, and I'm not sure if it was because of our Mississippi heat for 4 or 5 hours or the dead flies in there or what, but somehow it smelled even worse than when I had first put it out. My wife and daughter watched as I moved it another five or six hundred feet down the hill and hung it in a tree at the edge of our woods. It sloshed around a little bit and I couldn't help it...I started gagging real bad. My wife was laughing from the pool as I dry heaved. The closest thing I can compare the smell to would-be the latrines out in the heat when I was deployed in Kuwait. Maybe toss in some rotten meat smell too. I can see why the flies were highly attracted to it. I cautiously checked it three days later and it was completely full of flies. If you can find a good place to put this near your home or barn where you won't be around it, it is fantastic. I think it would be awesome around a barn because I did see a lot of horse flies in the trap. Just beware if you have a weak stomach. Do NOT open it inside your house or anywhere where you don't want a stench if you were to spill it. I showed it to my father-in-law who thinks it would be the ultimate tool for a prank. All in all I highly recommend it for getting rid of flies.

This product is amazing at Attracting flies but it smell like a dead rat. So you might need it in your garden but you can sit in proximity to it.
