Handy to keep for checking your American boat ac
This is a handy keep in your tool bag ac socket checker , simply plug in and check the light indicator then look at ref chart on socket checker to see if there’s a fault . Only draw back is the socket checker is pretty fragile . Keep in your bag separate

Picked this up to help diagnose two outlets that weren't working. Told me I had an issue with a negative wire, pulled the outlet out and sure enough, the wire had popped off. The tool was 100% spot on in diagnosing the issue. Its compact, cheap, and works. Can't get better than that.
