Great Replacement Pads with Clear Instructions
I was actually considering tossing out my Audio-Technica M50x headphones because I couldn't find a replacement set of ear cushions that looked like a good option. I'm glad I found these. The cushions look great, feel comfortable, and gave my headphones a fresh new life. Installation was straightforward, and the included instructions were clear and easy to follow. Once installed, the fit was excellent and the headphones looked almost new again. The overall quality met my expectations, and I would definitely buy these again if the leather eventually wears out. If you're trying to extend the life of your M50x headphones instead of replacing them, these replacement pads are a great choice.

worked on my ATH M40 headphones
I looked forever to find this product, black, but for the ATH M40. It just didn't exist in any color other than brown (ew). So I bought this one, which is for the ATH M50, and it fits just fine. Anyone who doesn't want a brown replacement cover for their black ATH M40s, should consider just buying this one instead. The one main negative to this product is in the installation directions. They aren't great. Despite that, I was able to do this in less than fifteen minutes. Anyone with enough patience and skill can manage this if they take their time, use common sense, and carefully observe how the old one was put together. Everything you need is included, even a piece of tape for the headphone wire and the screwdriver you need for disassembly. Removing the old one was simple, and getting the new one on was only slightly tricky. This could be due to the fact that I was putting an ATH M50 cover onto an ATH M40 but they're so similar in size that I doubt it. It's just a bit of a tight fit, which is necessary to preserve that factory look. Practice getting the alignment right before you remove the backing from the tape. Once you stick the tape onto the headband, carefully stretch the fabric around the band until the foam section is correctly aligned, stick the velcro together, and reassemble. I had to manage the wire inside the headband and make sure it didn't get pinched during reassembly, I don't know if that would be the same on the ATH M50. I assume so, because there is a piece of tape in just the right spot for you to stick the wire on to hold it still. The tape isn't super-sticky but it doesn't need to be; the velcro is doing the heavy lifting there. Despite being used for headphones not in the recommended list, fit and finish were just fine. The material feels about the same as what I replaced, just typical pleather over a thin foam cushion. The foam is thicker in this replacement than what was originally in it. That's a plus. And, the color matches. After installation, the headband replacement looks like it belongs there. It looks really close to factory, actually. It only lacks the brand name logo that the original had, and I don't care about that. The cushion is slightly thicker, which adds a small amount of comfort to what was already a comfortable-to-wear headphone. Looking at it now, no one can tell I've had these for almost a decade. Very pleased with this product and would recommend.

Beautiful.
Looks brand new. I'm actually really impressed. Instructions are adequate if you can read, not sure why multiple reviews say otherwise... I have an old DBrands skin on my headphones that add some red detail. These are just perfect. Pretty easy install overall and they Velcro on the bottom so you can realign really easy if you don't get it just right the first time. Plenty of double sided adhesive too.

Great alternative to having to buy a new pair
Overall they look perfectly fine. Obviously they don't have the branding but you'd have a difficult time seeing they're a replacement headband if you didn't know the name should be across the top. I only have 2 complaints. The illustrations specifically say to keep the bottom foam intact and show it there while the adhesive band is attached to the top of the headphones. The video instructions, as well as a video I found on youtube from a 3rd party, shows the bottom foam removed and the adhesive band attached at the bottom of the headband. I followed the videos' instructions and it seems to have worked fine. If you're confused about that, ignore the illustrations, follow the video. Also the bottom foam that was originally on the headphones is slightly thicker so the headphones sit slightly differently on your head and feel slightly less comfortable. Definitely not so much that it's a big deal though. Just might be a consideration for some people.

Straightforward and Effective
The product bundle includes the replacement headband, a screwdriver for the headphone clip screws, a spare strip of adhesive, and a set of written directions with illustrations. I feel that if one reads and studies the instructions carefully first then the process is quite easy. The replacement headband has small notches to help effectively guide where it should line up with the original hardware. Test the alignment once before exposing the adhesive and you should be fine. Once attached the replacement leather is thinner than the original but still soft and comfortable. It flattens out nicely and fits in with look of the headphones. It does exactly what I needed with little fuss, and extended the life of my headphones.

Best Replacement
The kit comes with everything that you need to replace the cover. Looked at a couple different products but this one looks the best as it is seamless and looks oem. Good quality material and easy to install. I'm waiting on the replacement ear pads but I'm excited seeing the quality of this.

Good but read about the screws/adhesive first
The headband cover is satisfactory 5/5. It has velcro so you can take it off if you need to but I don't see a reason unless it wears out like the original band. Installation was easier than it says in the manual because there is no reason to use the adhesive tape. The cover is going to fit snug along the headband so don't even worry about peeling the tape, trust me, leave the tape covered up. Just get the plastic it's attached to to fit between the 2 side clips. I took a star off because the screwdriver it comes with sucks. It's too small. The length isn't as much of a problem as the the fact the handle is too narrow to actually grip and twist. I ended up having to use a cell phone kit screwdriver which worked, but beware that these ATH screws are liable to strip, so don't overdo it with the screwdriver that comes with the kit. If it's not turning after a couple tries, stop and try another screwdriver, even a flathead. Because of a stripped screw, I was not able to fully remove one of the side clips - this was ok, however. One side did come off and the cover was able to get the right length coverage from side to side. It might help you infact to leave 1 of the side clips screwed in because the plastic piece (which has adhesive tape) that goes underneath the headband can basically slide into 1 of the side clips which holds it in place for you to finish wrapping it, which is why there is no need to uncover the adhesive tape. 4/5 because of the worthless waste of plastic & metal screwdriver

An attractive upgrade at an attractive price
Having just replaced the ear cups on my AT MX 50's I felt like I should colour match the headband. Out of the box you get the replacement headband, a precision Phillips head screwdriver, a piece of two sided tape and an easy to read instruction sheet. On inspection, It's clear that the leatherette headband material is exactly what Soulwit uses on their replacement ear cups. And that makes sense to me where colour matching is concerned. As you can see, it's a perfect match! Comparing it to the factory original, it feels comparable where suppleness is concerned. Removal of the original cover does require you to unscrew the plastic covers and cut the stitching. But that's easily done with scissors or a stitch ripper if you have one. Don't be alarmed if the plastic covers stick a little as they have some two sided tape on them. Mine pulled off easily enough. Preparing the new cover is as simple as peeling the velcro closure open and unfolding the entire assembly. The replacement headband comes with two sided tape pre installed so you may not need the separate piece included in the box. Although you could use it to freshen up the ones under the plastic covers if you wanted to. Or, you inadvertently do what I did and install the headband "backwards". Which may not be an issue for you depending on your use case. If you don't mind having the seam from the velcro closure facing forward, do nothing. Yes, I could just wear my headphones backwards, but that isn't conducive to my podcast set up and would show on camera. So I removed the cover and repeated the entire assembly process a second time. Which is no fault of Soulwit in any way. Just be mindful of where you want the seam. The installation itself is really straight forward. Line up the headband, press it firmly in place. Fold the cover over the band. Close the velcro and replace the plastic covers. As I really wanted the headband to match the ear cups, I can say that this replacement headband accomplishes that perfectly. It feels more or less as comfortable as the factory original. Obviously you lose the Audio Technica branding with this one, but if thats important to you then you shouldn't be considering it in the first place. But for me this is 100% a solid replacement / upgrade, and I totally recommend it.

Perfect for Audio Technica ATH-M50x
Bought this for my Audio technica ATH-M50x and I am really amazed how it changed the look of my headphones. It is comfortable to wear. Longevity is something that only time can tell. Installation process was easy and they had provided a manual with appropriate photos which helped with the process. I highly recommend this product for someone looking to revive the looks of their old Audio technica ATH-M50x headphones.
