I particularly like the fact that it has glass shades over the bulbs as well as the encircling cloth shade. I am not exaggerating when I say everyone comments on how much they love it. The down rod comes in various sized pieces, so you can choose how long to make it by using all or part of them. It hangs stiffly down and does not sway.
