D107 - Facet

Was apprehensive at first due to some of the negative reviews and price - but proceeded due to this being the only design similar to my existing door chime that was faulty. Points on installing: 1) Box has a slightly different shape to old one - so prepare your drill bits etc. to make a new hole 2) For some reason the screws do not conduct electricity only the metal contacts underneath - ensure that you install wires accordingly 3)If the chime bars are not pushed in correctly, or are in the wrong way around i.e. upside down, then you will only get the ding not the dong!! - once the chimes are in the right way the make a perfect ding dong! All in all good door chime once correctly installed, slightly different noise to original but does the job and loud enough to hear around the house!

Very clear chime

I bought this as a replacement for one that we’d for a very long time but had become corroded and stopped working. I was actually surprised that they still made them and although the old one was a different make this was almost identical. Fitting was relatively simple, and the sound was as loud as my old one, which was a relief as I saw other reviews stating this wasn’t loud enough. All in all the product is absolutely fine.

Lovely gentle ding Dong and I love it. I had to have it battery operated as my very old electric doorbell wasn’t compatible. It’s great and looks lovely on my wall. Batteries easy to install.

Fitted this to mains, along with the Friedland Lightspot push button. Initially it only dinged, and no dong. I changed the transformer so it was supplying 12v AC, instead of 8v AC. This fixed the issue, loud enough for us. A point to note is that as it is elecro-mechanical, so push button in, solenoid dings, release button and solenoid songs. So basically holding the button down won't do much. The instructions are very basic (just a diagram on the back) but shows you where the connect the wires, so that's all you need. It is supposed to run from between 8v to 16v AC, but I think 8v is not enough oomph for the solenoid.
