Exceptional Durability and Performance
I’ve been using this watch for over half a year now, and I couldn’t be more impressed. It has survived everything I’ve thrown at it without so much as a scratch – and that’s saying something, considering what I've put it through. This watch has endured extended swims in the sea, daily runs, and some of the toughest environments imaginable. It held up flawlessly during a live fire gunnery camp and a freezing month-long exercise in rain, frost and snow. Its rugged build is genuinely military-grade, and it’s clear it was designed with durability in mind. The battery life is phenomenal – the solar charging feature doesn't really make any difference, but it wasily lasts a fortnight without difficulty. The GPS is accurate, which is invaluable for navigation in unfamiliar terrain, and the features (from tactical modes to fitness tracking), are intuitive and tailored perfectly for an active, demanding lifestyle. For anyone in the military or anyone who simply needs a tough, reliable, feature-packed watch, I couldn’t recommend the Garmin Instinct Tactical Solar enough. It’s exceeded every expectation and proven itself in the harshest conditions. Five stars, without hesitation!

Love this.
Great watch, great battery life. Fits really well. It says good morning when you wake up. Silly I know but it has so many cool features, that there are too many to count.

Works as intended
Amazing product. Bought for friend and she loves it. She is outdoor most of the time so the solar charging function was brilliant for her.

Worst gadget you can ever buy
Waste of money, couple of months after the expiry of the warranty you can see what happened to the watch, complete waste of money, just rubbish, don't recommend it to anyone to buy it

I own this watch for about 4 weeks now and I'm still very excited about it. It's exactly what I wanted: rugged, simple enough to be of no annoyance, resistant to water, dirt and whatever comes to it when being outdoors... Many of my friends don't like it because it's Display does not show colors, has no touch functionality but that's exactly what I like about it. Access to all of it's many functions is achieved by using the 4 side buttons, like it had been done with all these adventure watches from the old days. It's Display is only dark/light but readable under any circumstances and, in my personal opinion one of the best technical achievements here, it's battery can last for a reeeeally long time. Thanks to it's inbuilt solar cell it also recharges on the run (provided there is sunshine of course. And even if it's not that much, is definitely recognizable!). All in all, by using it's core functions at all times and different fitness tracker functions at least a couple of times every day it keeps going for about a month before needing to recharge. A month!!! I said I have this watch for about 4 weeks now and that means I only charged it twice so far, once on its first day in my hand and the second time a day later after extensively playing with it's various sensors (pulse oxymetric measurements and constantly playing with gps are draining a lot of battery, lol...). But till then, by keeping the spOx-measuring off and just use what's really needed I haven't charged it another time and right now it's still at 12%. I find that quite impressive! Regarding the accuracy of those sensors (esp. heart rate- and spOx-sensors) I can say they are not as accurate as true medical equipment is (I happen to have access to such equipment...) but the heart rate measuring for example is only about 2 - 3% off, which is a) by far better then from my old (and quite cheap and simple) smart watch and b) absolutely accurate enough to get reliable fitness and body value data to use for training planning and so on. There are a lot of functions that have little to no use for ordinary persons who are not military personnel such as jumpmaster, but that's from the military background, which the watch certainly has (I have no idea though if it's really being used in that area, but it's surely imaginable...), but if that is too much of an issue you can always select which activities to display you want to choose from. Connectivity with the Garmin Connect App is good, the app itself lacks a few functions and has some purposely built in features I do not like (e.g. you can only use activity data for certain challenges when you have tracked them with the watch, retroactive input via App are not counting towards their goals), but that's a different story and does not affect daily use of the watch itself too much. All in all I am very happy with this watch...

Used this watch for nearly a month now and it lives up to my expectations and then some. It's less bulky and lighter than it looks. Very accurate tracking of all metrics. Easy to use and set up. It's possible to lock the buttons to avoid accidentally activating features. Highly recommend.
