there is mac and windows computers, haven’t heard of a android laptop, but if the device is compatible with a mouse then it should work.

Is there any indication of when it needs to be charged?

From my observation, They under perform when not charged enough. Trouble getting it to connect to bluetooth is one. Slow movement of the cursor. Don't forget, some of these new bluetooth mice have a sleep mode to conserve battery life, so they perform longer on a charge. These rechargeables are great!
