Amazing value, awesome product. This is a truly functional heavy duty compass that will last. I was looking all over for a high quality compass to give as end of the year gifts to our Cub Scout den, and I scrolled for pages and pages reading reviews before finding this listing. If you remember the old military style lensatic compasses, I was looking for a kid-friendly modern version that didn't feel or function like a toy, while keeping within our modest den expenditure budget for 9 scouts. This compass has EVERYTHING I needed, and at an incredible price. It has a metal body and bezel, the dial movement is very smooth, and it has a nice bright glow-in-the-dark illuminated face. It even comes with a storage pouch that has a belt loop! Our Scouts were very impressed and we hope to get started on the orienteering with them soon. Shipping was also lightning fast which was very much appreciated.

I have purchased some days ago and works perfectly, they have a lot of good uses and works pretty well. It comes with a special cloth for cleaning and protective package. The structure is durable and very handy to check the directions. It's very readable. A very good gift if you are looking for a present.

This compass seems pretty solid. The silver ring on top is plastic, which was kind of the only part that doesn’t seem like will last. Overall pretty happy with the price and I think it will work well to have as a safety item while hiking. I haven’t tried to change the declination on it, but I do see where it adjusts.

So much to say in short wording, this compass is made of metal and i compared it with my iphones compass in the Utillities app and got a slightly different reading of both devices not really knowing on any compass being accurate how to understand the differances with each other. very hard to know with any compass to know which one is really the correct reading but the item seems to be the best one out of compasses, it has a nice heavy weight to it seems very durable and the durability of it seems like it could last longer than a life time.the black style goes great with my tactical gear.This is Highly advanced technology off the grid ….period

When I was getting ready to go out, I was looking for anything that would be dependable enough to lead me through uncharted routes, and this multifunctional compass provided me with everything I needed. I believe that the mix of classic compass functions with contemporary innovations such as the map measurer, distance calculator, and bubble level was one of the most appealing aspects for me. It seemed like a game-changer to have all of these functions in a single device, particularly when I was planning routes and double-checking my bearings while I was out on my trek. The instant I had it in my hand, I was able to tell that it was built with longevity in mind from the very beginning. I am much more confident in my ability to stow it among other items that could jiggle about in my bag since the metal housing has a matte black surface that seems to be particularly made to survive the weather. In addition, the waterproof construction was put to the test when I unexpectedly met light rain while I was on my journey. It is my pleasure to report that the functioning of the product was not hindered by the presence of wetness, indicating that the waterproof capabilities that were stated are accurate in actual scenarios.

Before I owned this compass I had no idea which way was North, and now I do. What more can I say? Need a compass? Are you lost? Looking for the Dead Man's Chest? You'll need a compass, might as well buy this one.

1. Only a single phosphorescent triangle on the compass card; on the moveable GRADs ring the triangle used to point in the direction you want to go is only a printed outline and not phosphorescent. This makes it DIFFICULT TO USE IN THE DARK. 2. Reading the pointing angle is done by sighting through a lens, NOT VIA AN ELEVATED PRISM as shown in the direction booklet. The scale is in 2 degree increments. 3. When using the sighting lens for accurate reading of direction, it is VERY TRICKY to hold the compass up high and level enough to both visually sight through the sighting slit and the front cross-hairs to the target object. 4. The thumb ring is way TOO SMALL for an adult thumb. 5. The thumb ring is located on the WRONG END of the compass -- it is located on the far end where the cross-hairs are located, not under the sighting slit. 6. The thumb ring isINSUFFICIENTLY RECESSED. When the ring is stored it protrudes from the bottom of the compass, even if the lanyard is removed. 7. The compass DOES NOT SIT FLAT on a surface but rocks back and forth because the thumb ring does not open sufficiently to clear the table. 8. The target size table molded into the bottom of the compass CANNOT BE READ since it is the same color as the compass body -- BLACK ON BLACK. The same holds true of the side cm and inch scales. 9. The compass is HEAVY and bulky with relatively sharp corners. It must be carried in the provided pouch which is belt worn, not always the best choice. 10. The under-surface of the bubble level is not phosphorescent making it DIFFICULT AT NIGHT to ensure that the compass card is free to rotate. 11. The print size in the instruction booklet is TINY and therefore difficult to read.
