However, I would highly recommend that you include the need to plug the enclosure into an external power source in your starters guide booklet. All that said, I will gladly ammend my comment as it is not accurate. I appreciate the lengths you went to in order to rectify this, that speaks volumes to your integrity. "My initial experience was not good, I was only getting speeds around 50Mbps. I ended up returning it as I thought it was a scam or something, but DockCase reached out almost immediately trying to diagnose what went wrong. The issue ended up being that I didn't have the enclosure plugged into external power, though it didn't specify in their quick start guide to do so (hopefully that gets changed). They sent me a replacement and it lives up to their claims and them some! It uses a Beryl Electric Double Layer supercapacitor (EDLCON), Realtek USB controller, and the body and heat sink appears to be from a milled block of aluminum. Even the screws are stainless steel. The spared no expense in building this enclosure, giving it high end performance and high end appearance. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone looking for performance.

Easily the coolest looking m.2 enclosure I've ever used -- the pictures definitely reflect what you'll get and really, the aesthetics are the main reason to buy this. However the display is surprisingly useful, showing information about the attached drive during idle and current transfer speeds when reading or writing. Of course, this is information that is usually easy to see on the device the drive is connected to, but again, cool factor. The power loss prevention is also very effective -- the drive has a solid few seconds to finish up moving anything from its built in DRAM to its primary storage. The downside of this neat display and large capacitor are an increased overall power draw. If you want to connect this to a portable device like a phone, you may need to make use of the secondary USB-C port for additional power. (This has not been a problem on any laptop or desktop I've used so far.) Drive install was very easy and an additional screw is included if you lose one -- much appreciated, since the screws appear to be a custom job with a really nicely machined top. There are cheaper enclosures that you can buy that will match this one in performance for sure, but few approach it in aesthetics, and maybe the power loss prevention will come in handy one day.

I am surprised this doesn't cost a lot more, its such great quality and materials. Streams data lightning fast, doesn't get hot or anything. The cord that comes with it is great quality too. The screws are tiny for my chubby fingers but I dont plan on having to open or close it much. Only 2 screws to install the ssd, pretty simple.

Overall, it’s the perfect blend of performance, reliability, and sleek aesthetics. Couldn’t be happier with it.

NOTE: a major reason for buying this instead of a cheaper enclosure is the capacitor - if power goes out, the data is still protected for a short time. NOTE: this enclosure DOES NOT allow firmware updates to the NVME drive within - this is a limitation of the USB protocol, not with the enclosure itself. Very handy, would buy again. Excellent packaging. Very sturdy. Love the display on the front, very versatile - can get fairly detailed info on the name drive inside without having to plug into a PC. Not the easiest thing to screw and unscrew the actual NVME drives from the enclosure - but that's just how NVME drives are designed to be mounted, and has nothing to do with the enclosure. The enclosure itself is very well made - I would have no concerns with just throwing it in my pocket or a backpack or bag and traveling with it. Transfer speeds are NOT always 10GB/s - that's entirely normal for ALL hard drives and SSDs - but transfer speeds were solid for me on my USB 3.1 spec.

Do not buy this product. I have two of them that I bought a week apart because it supposedly had good comments. In the end one of them got burned. The disk was useful but the housing almost burned the computer because of the amount of energy it requested to work. I contacted customer service and it is the worst customer service I have ever worked with. I decided to lose the money and not continue with the guarantee because they only waste your time

This works great! I've been using it for weeks now and I have not had any issues. The nice feature it has is when you just hot swap it, it has a shut down sequence that protects your data as long as the backup power is fully charged. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a high speed M.2 device that protects the hard drive from damage for hot swapping. Update August 15th 2025: If you start using it with a lot of read/write transfers. the case gets hot and restarts. I'm currently going through this right now while using a WD Black 2TB drive as a backup for my computer. This case keeps getting so hot while I'm backing up my computer it keeps restarting. If you use this for the occasional read/write its ok, but if you do any heavy data transfers it gets hot and restarts.

This thing is great! I've gone through a lot of expensive external drives and enclosures for my work, but this one stands out. This is a solid enclosure to protect the drive of my choice, the transfer speeds are fantastic, and the screen is surprisingly more useful than I thought it would be. It holds a charge for a few seconds, in case it gets disconnected, but I haven't run into a situation where I needed that.
