No.. my son has dropped his a hundred times on hard floors carpets and outside and it's never broke we love ours

No , after first wash on top Dishwasher shelf , it's badly warped and lid no Longer fits.

Can this be used without the straw and when drink spout closed still be spill proofed please.

I tried it out for you. You can sort of drink without the straw, but it needs to be tipped way up and then it seems to drip a bit - I wouldn't recommend using it without the straw. It leaks a bit when closed without the straw as well. However, with straw inserted, the spout is spill proofed.
