Men's Guide 30 Alpine Backpack (pack of 1)

Gewohnt gute Qualität von Deuter. Vielleicht gehört es sich für einen Rucksack dieser Art so, aber das es keine Halterung für eine Trinkflasche gibt und st aus meiner Sicht der einzige negative Punkt.

This pack is designed for mountaineers with ice axes, rope, helmet etc. This pack also works very well for non-climbers like me that need to carry lots of awkward stuff on long walks at the beach. The external attachment points work well for my two beach chairs or bulky folding mat. Towels or blanket can be fit at the top with the fold-over "lid." The large single-bag design works for my beach cabana with room to spare for snacks and more. I haven't loaded it fully yet, but so far very I see many good options for creative attachment. A few details – The bag is very deep and the black fabric blocks light, so it can be hard to find small items that work their way down to the bottom. I tied a mini-flashlight at the top to help with the finding. Other colors might let more light through. The usable depth is variable because you can cinch the top and fold over the small "lid" wherever you wish. The photo shows a completely full pack, but it can be much smaller as needed. The helmet holder is a cool design for a helmet, but I haven't found a use for it yet. The waist belt is minimal, more for stability, and tucks away nicely. If you like lots of pockets for organizing, keep looking. There is just the main bag and one small pocket for phone / glasses. They show one very thin pocket holding a phone, but that is a very thin, stiff opening and so tiny that is practically useless. Size of 30 L is large for day hikes, but very good for bulky items. Overall, very happy with the pack for my purposes. It's very strong without being over-built. Good pack with lots of options for carrying awkward stuff. Closeout sale price helped me make the decision.

Nicely made pack with a lot of good features. The only thing I don’t like is that the built-in helmet holder covers the outside pocket, and in order to open the pack (if you have a helmet on it) you have to completely remove the helmet in order to get inside the pack. If there’s no helmet on it you still have to unhook and lift this flap up. I’d also like to see a small pocket on the belt strap, which it doesn’t have, but it’s fairly lightweight, and has a good capacity.
