The iLIVING Shutter Exhaust Fan is perfect for removing excess heat, moisture, and unpleasant odors from virtually any commercial location, including restaurants, factories, warehouses, barns, and greenhouses. Thermostat is set and working perfectly. They have lowered the temp about 15-20 degrees. They are very quiet in the enclosure and can't hear thru the house wall. Review: "Whole house fan," DIY... - Great shuttered fan! The controller that comes with it is very useful and easy to work with. I bought this fan on sale, cut/used a piece of plywood and the existing opening/hatch for my attic to build a "whole house fan" for about $100. In summer months, it gets up to 114 degrees where we live (no humidity though) and so being able to fill the house and the attic with fresh cool air before dawn is a huge money saver on our AC/power. This fan moves plenty of air so opening windows downstairs and turning this fan to high power does all of that cooling work cheaply and in minutes. The shutter opens and closes easily even though the fan is mounted horizontally. We are very pleased with this purchase.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be run in reverse to suck the air in?**
A: You cannot the motor will have to be expose outside element which this is not possible.

**Q: How tight do the shutters close (primary concerned for winter months)?**
A: The shutters do close completely, but are not very thick and are not air tight!

**Q: What is the Wire length, fan to thermostat.**
A: The cord is about 5 feet 6 inches and that plugs into a control box that is 5 1/2 inches long. The cord is not connected to the fan, you will have to connect the wires to the motor. So if you need a longer  ord you can buy one and wire it to the motor.

**Q: Does the thermostat just plug into the wall and the fan into the thermostat?  I don't see anything that shows me where the thermostat gets it's power.**
A: Yes, the thermostat is plugged into the wall, and the fan plugs into the thermostat. In installed an outlet high on the wall of my shed. I wanted it high so it would sense the hotter temperature in my shed.  I did purchase the service plan, just in case.  Very easy install, and so far it is amazing and worth every penny.  This is my second fan from this company and I am completely satisfied.

Great shuttered fan! The controller that comes with it is very useful and easy to work with. The Wall Mounted Shutter Exhaust Fan was incredibly easy to install, and I was able to get it up and running without much hassle. The clear instructions made the process straightforward, and the fan fit perfectly into the space. One thing to note, though, is that you’ll need to have an outlet nearby in the installation area, as it doesn’t come with a very long cord. I was fortunate to have an outlet within reach, but if you don’t, it’s something to plan for ahead of time. Once installed, the difference in my attic temperature was remarkable. Before, the attic was always unbearably hot, especially during the summer, but this fan has made a huge improvement. It helps circulate the air and keeps the attic at a much more manageable temperature, preventing that excessive heat buildup. I’ve noticed a significant drop in temperature, which has also helped reduce the strain on the house's AC system. Overall, this exhaust fan has been a great addition to the house. It was easy to install, works effectively, and has made a noticeable difference in the comfort and airflow of the attic. Highly recommended for anyone needing better ventilation in a hot space!
