Wonderfully written book that a young lady can read on her own or with a trusted adult. It explains things in language that my 9 year old daughter understands. She feels a lot more confident about changes in her body happening now and changes to be expected. I appreciate that there's a section about relationships.

Clear information but not ‘graphic.’ Will give your preteen a much better understanding of ‘usual’ growth processes in a scientific & factual manner. I read it 1st before handing off to my preteen. This allowed us to discuss & her to look up more information as she needed. Had previously bought the male version for our son.

This book is perfect for explaining tween/teen stressors in an age appropriate way. Great for children who aren't confident speaking about issues out loud.

I bought this for my 2 granddaughters. They are 12 and 13. At that age they don't want to talk about their bodies. This book has all the information needed. They look at it together when they think no one is watching. Later, I talk to them about certain things. Luckily they talk to me about everything!

So far, very good engaging topics for 8 and 11 year old working through the reading together. Love the illustrations!

Writing, drawings and colours nicely balanced to make it interesting and informative reading for girls (and parents/grand parents). I bought it as a present for my granddaughters aged 10 and 11. The 10 year-old loves it and doesn’t put it down. If there is an equivalent for boys I will buy one for my currently 3-year old grandson as well.

I’ve bought her a few books about growing up and puberty over the years but they didn’t really engage her or she found them a bit “cringe”. Growing up Powerful has really captured her attention, it covers a wide range of issues that tweens & teens might be experiencing (not just the biology of puberty), and is really very inclusive without being extreme. My daughter has read it cover to cover and tells me interesting facts each day. Highly recommend!

Great book for building confidence while navigating growing up.

Bought for my daughter- had a Quick Look through myself and it seems like a great book for young girls. Provides information on subjects such as periods, puberty, friendships etc in a way that’s informative yet more… casual… than other books. To me it seems like my child won’t find it ‘cringey’ (as they have with other books) but I’ve yet to give it to her. I also appreciate that this book seems to stay age appropriate… Other books I have bought discuss things not very age appropriate for little girls… This one feels like a safe choice whilst also seeming enjoyable to read. Id maybe actually describe this book as being as if it has been written by like an older sister/friend. My only issue is that it arrived incredibly damaged, but after some tape it is still readable.
