Twenty-two years ago, author Peter Venison's Hotel Management became a best seller in the hotel and tourism industry, labeled a "must read" on the curriculum of every hotel school, and landed on the bookshelf of every hotel manager. Despite many requests for a follow-up volume, Venison declined, on the basis that he had nothing new to say. Now he does.Holed up for several weeks in five star hotels while concluding a complicated business deal, Venison realized that the standards offered by the industry still fall short of perfection. As a result, he has put pen to paper to produce this handy catalogue of suggestions to hoteliers, based upon his considerable personal experience as a hotelier and perpetual hotel guest.100 Tips for Hoteliers guides you from the inception of a hotel to its opening and operation, offering practical tips for each stage of the journey. It should prove equally useful to hotel school students as a checklist of what they can expect, and also to practicing hotel managers as a reminder of their responsibilities.Proceeds from the sale of 100 Tips for Hoteliers will be donated to the Duke of Edinburgh Cup charity. Review: A must for a future Leader in the industry - Great valuable content. Great tips: I need another highlighter๐๐. Is that tipe of book you need to read 1, 2 or 3 chapter at once. No more cause the content needs to be digested Review: Brief manual about Running a Hotel - It is an interesting and fast paced reading. Tries to cover every aspect of running a hotel. So it is not detailed and it is not for the experienced professional. Some tips are also outdated. It is great though for the newcomers to get an idea about how things work.

not practical tips but good philosophy
Great read about a mans life through the hospitality industry. Starting as a desk clerk, all the way through to being owner and operator of huge resorts. Very easy to read, even the beginning where he is explaining how to plan and build a resort (something i can never imagine myself doing). But alot of his message boils down to 'work hard, common sense, and try to enjoy'

couldnt put it down! excellent reading
I would reccommend this book for any one in a management position within a hotel, expecially those (such as myself) in a deputy position looking to step up to a General manager position. The book covers several areas such as new openings, motivating the operation team, marketing and many more. Simply an excellent book which i could not put down and cant wait to put into action in my hotel.

Get it.
Having been in the business since the age of 14 I have a great appreciation for the hospitality industry. In the past 10 years I have worked every job in the house and still strive to know all that this business has to offer. This book is a great extension of the knowledge I already have and a go-to guide for subjects I have yet to conquer. It's a very simple read and an almost never-ending source of information. I recommend this book to anybody that has hopes of making it in this business as I hope to do someday as well... I also recommend this to anybody that has made it. Keep it at your desk as a reference guide and I promise it will help you as it regularly helps me.
