Jury is still out…but there’s optimism
I did not notice a power difference, but it could be because we went from sport tires to all season tires at the same time. Quality product, and fit was perfect with installation a breeze. I’m looking forward to see how it performs after cleaning. I’m optimistic!

Improved MPGs!
Immediately improved my MPGs! Fits my gen 3 Mazda perfectly. I have not used the filter enough to wash and test it yet, but I may update the review and rating after.

Improves performance
K&N filters have a well deserved reputation for being free breathing and protecting the engine. I swapped from an OEM air filter to the K&N and noticed the difference in the engine's wiliness to accelerate. Changed this myself and noticed how easy it was to install - in relation to how difficult it was to remove the previous OEM filter.

The first thing I buy for any new vehicle.
I put a K&N in all my vehicles. They flow more air dirty, than a new paper one. These state, they improve HP, and mileage, I would agree on both. Nothing huge, but also noticeable. 1 million mile warranty, plus you only clean it ever 50k miles. I spray mine with Simple Green, let it soak for 10, rinse with hot water, air dry in the sun, until completely dry. Then a quick spray with their oil. DO NOT OVER SPRAY, it will cause the MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor) to code. Actually you should clean that too, while your drying your filter. Hope this helps!

Good filter. Bought to save money & reduce waste over the long run of ownership.
Bought this to install in my brand new Mazda CX-5 2016.5. I use K&N filters in all my vehicles and I am overly satisfied. Dropped in in replacement of the OEM filter "week 2" of ownership, so I don't know if the 1-2 mpg improvement I saw on the trip computer is due to the filter, the engine/trans getting a bit broken in or the traffic being easier as this is the biggest factor in a car used for commuting in SoCal. The sound did not seem to improve/change much, but the car is not revved hard often for me to notice. Again, I did not really expect any performance gains for the type of vehicle, its use & the rest of the engine being completely stock. The factory airbox seems decently free-flowing as its usually the case with Mazdas. It was mainly bought to save money & reduce waste over the long run of ownership.

Fantastic customer service
Great product, easy to clean especially if you can put in a paper filter for a day or two while you let this one dry. Mine got too dirty and damaged due to heavy driving. I sent pictures over to K&N and they are sending a replacement.
