Actually, this doesn't surprise me, as this dog comes out to bark at the squealing wheels of trains passing a mile away.There is also an indicator light on the front that allows you to see if the battery is still good, and that the unit is functioning (as you can't hear the sound except on the test mode). However, this does not make the unit very stealthy.
