I have used cots like this for camping in the past and really liked them but were military issued. These that I bought looked exactly like the military ones except for the additional side pockets that were added. They are comfortable and large enough for an average person and easy to set up.The disheartening thing that I discovered was that the gauge of aluminum that is used is about half that of the military issued one. They are sturdy and easy to put together... after you figure out how to put the end bars on... it's one of those things where the first time there can be a few minutes of puzzlement, but after you do it once it's a piece of cake. It is plenty long... maybe I should have ordered one a bit wider... but I am a bit wide, and it was ok. They do not fold down very compactly, but that is also part of their ease of setting it up... it just unfolds... plus putting on 2 end support bars, as I said. I gave a 4 rating because one of the two cots was missing the 2 end support bars. Kudos to this company for including a friendly "we'd love to hear from you" card. I really appreciate that kind of personalized customer care outreach. So I immediately emailed the address on their card. They responded immediately, very apologetically, and with a quick solution to refund my money on the one cot (for which they did not require a return.) I received the refund right away, as promised.
