is the shelf designed to fit to the board? The instructions are woeful!

You have both choices as each shelf is the same length as each board and the holes on the shelves line up with those on the board. If you do not want to do this you can attach the shelves to the garage wall instead, that can be attached as a pair or separately. I have two sets of these boards and one set has the shelves attached to the bottom and the other set has the shelves in a different location.

How do the wall fixtures for this work? Does it have to be screwed in the corners of each board? I'm looking to attach it to a wall with joists 85cm apart.

The actual holes in the board itself are the fixtures. So you have options of where you want to secure it, hundreds of options In fact. I found it easy to put up in my garage. Doesn’t come with screws or plugs - again your choice what sort you use. I used 2.5inch screws and expanding plugs and obviously fitted a few to keep it secure. Looks great when put up and tools all hanging in order

Where can I get the wall anchors from ?

Some fittings come with the kit, but I used my own screws and rawlplugs onto breeze block.

Where can i get more hooks from?

Don't buy the ting in the first place or make some yourself as I don't think you can buy any spares for this rubbish
