And I was really surprised at how long I was able to keep it on and how long I could use it. I would pause it and give predators time to look for it as they come in and then restart it to keep drawing them in. I was afraid it would die on me prematurely. But it never did. I have not had a set that I could not control the call remotely. The sounds are quality sounds. However, the higher pitched calls/sounds do distort at higher volumes. The option to play 2 sounds at one time is nice and works as expected. The decoy option works well to activate and deactivate the decoy remotely. I can say that you will quickly find the limits of the 12 programmed calls and will be wishing for a larger selection. However, I cannot give a negative review, because the 12 do work as advertised. I have since bought a mouth call to supplement the electronic call. The first time out, I was able to call in 7 coyotes. One of the coyotes came to within 20 yards of the call and less than 50 yards from me! I was shocked to see how quickly they responded. The second time out, a large gray fox came within 20 yards of the call. If you want to try an electronic predator call without breaking the bank, this call does work very well. I was behind my barns. silo and back in the woods at the very least 500 yards with the controler and the call was in the house and my girlfriend was on the phone with me as she placed it all over the house including in a dresser drawer and i had 100% control of the caller. I could not believe it myself. Great freaking call. I tried $450 Fox Pro's and couldnt get 50 yards out of them. I need the yardage and IcoTech delivered. And honestly i woulda been happy at 300 yards but it far exceeded that. I would buy it again...In fact i did. I bought a 350 to really help bring in the dogs with some separation in the sounds for a realistic set. If u cant get the range u need to call Customer Service. I had talked to them a couple times prior to buying. **Q: Can you hook up another external speaker to it as well?** A: It does have an external speaker jack. The other person is wrong, you can find that info in the product description. **Q: size of the speaker** A: The speaker diameter is approx. 3-1/4-inches. I "called" last winter at about 100-yards; the call sounds are clean and the remote unit works surprisingly well at that distance. One nice feature is the unit will pause it's calls at intervals you might expect from prey; calls/cries are not at a constant rate. **Q: Are the sounds on a tape where you have to change them or is it all onthe remote** A: You can change all the sounds by the remote and there all labled too. Its digital so no tape. It has its own timer and plays for 5 min then pauses for a short time before it goes again. Its fairly loud as is but it has a jack to add an extra speaker if you want.
