What colour do people recommend? I purchased cool white for our kitchen but find it too cool and clinical. Is warm white too yellowy? Thanks.

These bulbs provide a bright white light rather akin to modern car headlights. The light is in no way yellowy. I would not describe the light as "warm", it is too bright for that description to be appropriate. I have these bulbs in a six-bulb light in my small kitchen and a four-bulb light in my small dining room which provide good overall illumination but not too bright. Hope this helps.

Yes … in theory. Each ‘lamp’ is 5W, so 200 hours of constant use will use 1KWh (0.34p if that is your current rate). Compared to a conventional 100W bulb (if such things exist anymore!!) which would use the same energy is just 10 hours! (Or in your figures above it would cost £1.70 for just under 42 days of constant use!)

which type of lamp provides a narrow beam for doorway access only

If you want a narrow beam, you'll need the 35 degree beam angle version - check the specs. I have the 120 degree version which provide really good coverage (in my kitchen). Overall though I would highly recommend this brand to you - I've only had 1 failure in over 4 years of use ( and I have a lot of them fitted!)
