Once you complete the sesseion you will want to leave your pet alone to for up to an hour so they can pass the stool. Generously apply vaseline up and down the entire applicator tip and apply a bit of vaseline to the animals rectom. Holding your pet securely, very gently insert the tip (gently as you can tear the animals rectom, and only insert a little bit, not the whole thing) then begin gently and slowly pushing contents of syringe into rectom. Note: if your pet is urinating and/or deficating outside their litter box, this is a sign that something more serious is wrong with them and they will need to see a vet!! I know from experience. **Q: How can i get this item to ship quicker after ordering? my boyfriend ordered it. i don't know when my cat went last and i can't get him to the vet.** A: There are usually a few places from where you can order it and one may have faster shipping. Even if you have already ordered, you may want to do so again. Also, when I have ordered it typically arrives sooner than noted. You can also see if your vet can get you an oral medication called lactulose to help get your cat to go. **Q: My one cat has megacolon. Aside from surgery will this help? The vet charges $25.00 for basically the same thing. Help!** A: I know you asked this long ago but there is always someone needs this answer. This is exactly what your vet is giving, but keep in mind 12ml is too much. Buy 6ml for your cat(which is the same price as this), if problem is keep happening and you want to save more, you can clean the used 6ml syringe with hot water and alcohol and fill with this one for the next occurrence. My cat has a megacolon, I gave him wet food twice a day and I add a tea spoon of ClearLax (same as Miralax) every time and once a week 2ml of Lactulose(don't buy from your vet, $15 online for 16oz) . Unfortunately, I can't stop him eating dry food since I have 4 more cats, so does get constipation once in a blue moon because of his severe condition and me forgetting the ClearLax. He used to be on CisaPride but not anymore, with this setup he is doing fine.
