Absolutely brilliant. I purchased this for my Mum to ensure she was getting her medication. Firstly you dont have to have alarm on.You can just have a red light flash to tell you its pill time. Mum hates loud noises so the option to have no alarm is what she loves. You can change the volume on the alarm but even the quietest would be too loud for her and have it "out of window " instead she loves it and I know she's actually getting her tablets. I gave her a plastic beaker to tip them into as she was worried about dropping them when she tips the tablets out. You can buy a tipper unit for £60 but a plastic beaker is easier less of a faff and cheaper and wont break .Mum finds it very easy . The hardest bit was working out how to set it up. But once you've done it once its easy and there is a video to help you as well as good instructions. I wish I knew about automatic pill dispenser years ago. It is so easy and the unit is locked with a key so the settings can't be accidentally change and you cant get more than the designated dose out. I had the clear lid so I know how many days before I need to refill the tablets instantly.

Got this for my elderly aunt who has Parkinson's disease and lives alone. She is on a complex medication routine and it was very difficult to keep track of it using an ordinary daily pill organiser. She would often forget to take pills or take the wrong ones at the wrong time of day and the family were having to check it several times a day. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit Ireland, we were so worried about my Auntie who now had to cocoon meaning only her daughter could have limited visits and nobody else in the family could come into her house. This little gadget has saved the day. She liked it from the start, it does exactly what it's supposed to and sounds an alarm when it's time for her to take her pills. The gap in wheel turns to the compartment with only the right pills for that time of day so it is impossible for her to make a mistake. The alarm goes off for 30 minutes and will only stop when she tips the unit over to take out the pills. It has given my auntie back a little bit of independence and she doesn't feel that we are always checking up on her any more. Its is relatively easy to set up, I watched a YouTube video instead of reading the instructions. The only criticism I would have is that it runs on batteries and cannot be connected to mains. There doesn't seem to be a low battery indicator so we would worry about the batteries running out. We'd feel much more confident if it could also be connected to the mains. Hopefully the manufacturers of this will eventually sync this with an app so that the family watch the status of the pill taking and intervene if necessary, I know this would add to the cost, but a gadget like this is priceless when it comes to the well being of your loved one. I am giving it 5 stars and not taking away any for the batteries as I think it is a much needed product and I am so grateful for it.

This has been a game changer for us. It has really worked to make sure my elderly mother takes her tablets. She has vascular dementia and wasn't remembering to take them until we got this. The alarm sounds (wherever she has put the thing she hears it). She tips it up, tablet drops out, alarm stops. She can't take too many because all compartments are sealed. Easy instructions to follow for family members to set it up and refill. Yes it's expensive but worth it to enable peace of mind.

Mum was having trouble remembering when and if she had taken her medication. Sometimes it looked like she had forgotten and other times we suspect she may have been taking multiple doses. We bought the Medelert pill dispenser for her and everything seems to be going ok. It is reasonably easy to set up and although it is slightly on the heavy side Mum can tip it up to get the pills out.There are 3 issues I have with the device which maybe could be improved in future versions.1. The tray has 28 sections for pills, this means you always have to leave one section empty when you refill. It would be nice if there was an extra spare section, this would be especially useful when switching carousel and have a complete 4 weeks available.2. When the alarm time is reached the carousel rotates to expose the next dose and an led flashes and a beep sounds for 30 minutes or until the pills are taken out. If the pills are not taken the beep and flashing stops after 30 minutes. The pills remain in view but if they are not removed before the next alarm they rotate out of view and stay in the tray. This is fine and the carer can see a dose has been missed the next time they check the tray, however, there is a danger of the patient double-dosing. Mum takes 5 pills at 10 am. The alarm sounds and the pills are presented. At the time she is not in the room and cannot hear the alarm. 30 minutes later the alarm automatically turns off. Mum comes back into the room but is unaware the pills are ready for her to take so she carries on without taking them until the next day when at 9.30 am she sees the pills in the dispenser. She takes the pills then half an hour later the next alarm activates and, forgetting she has already taken one daily dose, she takes the next ones.If the alarm could reactivate for a short time every 15 minutes until the pills are taken it may help to prevent a double dose.3. You can't put soft capsules like vitamin capsules in the dispenser. After a day they go sticky and stick to the tray making it difficult to get out. I will have to try and find vitamin tablets rather than capsules.On the whole I am pleased with the device and, although it's a bit pricey, I would recommend it for anyone concerned about their relatives taking medication. It has definately taken a worry off my shoulders.

I wanted to wait until I had used this machine for a while before submitting my review.Initially I was hesitant to purchase due to the high price but I’m thankful I went ahead and bought it.My mother had a brain injury in 2020 and as a result is currently being assessed for Dementia. My Mother lives alone with myself and Home carers calling in daily. My mother can be quite obsessive around her medications and likes to have her independence around them. Often she would pop the wrong day/ time from her blister pack which resulted in confusion for the rest of the week, not to mention the danger of overmedicating.I fill the machine with her meds once a week and have the timer set for twice a day, morning and evening. I then lock the machine and have the key hidden.So far it has worked extremely well. I worried it would be fiddly to set up but reading and following the instructions was easy enough. My mam wouldnt have been able to do it herself however, so I would recommend family/ carers to do it.It comes with lots of different panels for varied options depending on medication requirements ie, morning, mid morning, afternoon, evening etc and there are 6 alarms.My Mam is only on meds twice daily as seen in the picture submitted. So I have only 2 alarms set, once for morning at 9am and once in the evening for 9pm.The machine rotates to the time and day and will continue to flash until the medications have been tipped out.I would 100% recommend this product to anyone who needs support around medications. Its been a life saver for us.

Yes, it is expensive, but it is very good. I had one of the plastic boxes with daily sections beside my mum's bed and she swore she took her tabs every night before bed, but 'somehow' there were often doses left behind in the box. She has dementia and since getting this she hasn't missed taking her meds.It sits beside her chair and goes off at 9pm, so she is awake when it buzzes. It stays buzzing for half an hour if it isn't picked up, so even if she is in another room it will stay buzzing for a while. It took her a couple of weeks to get used to it, I was there the first few nights, but when I left she stuck her finger into the slot to get the tabs rather than tip them out, so it kept buzzing. Another time she didn't wait for the buzz, worried that the slot was empty and tried to get in with a knife :-/ I stuck a label on it saying 'tip me up' and took to phoning her 5 mins before to remind her what to do, then 5 mins after to check it was off and it seems to be going ok and it is becoming a habit to take the tablets.I like that I can put several different alarms on for different tables and various times of day if she eventually needs more tablets.It is also good that I can load it up and see well in advance when I need to order more tablets.PS The lid is clear, so I can see when to reload it easily, but my mum sometimes found it difficult to see the open slot to tip her tablets from, and they ended up on the floor a couple of times. I solved this by painting bright nail varnish around the open segment bit of the lid so she can see it easily :-)UPDATE 13 months after purchase. Disappointed that it broke, the mechanism fell out and the carousel won't turn. It was great while it lasted. Even though it was expensive and only lasted 13 months it worked out about 20p per pill prompt, and that's cheaper than hiring a carer to pop in or driving to mum's every single evening, so I'll buy another one.

I bought this for my own use, I am useless remembering to take my medication, or I forget that I have taken it and double dose.It is brilliant bit of kit, when it is time to take a dose, it buzzes, beeps and flashes and is so annoying you really cannot ignore it 😁The thing I really like is that when you pick it up to dispense the medication, it will only let you have the current dose. There is a key, just I'm case you want to limit access to all the meds at once.When you first open the box, don't panic. There is a whole selection of labels, and the first impression is that it is complicated, but it really isn't. And once it is set up, the peace of mind is wonderful.So a few weeks in now, and I am still really impressed. I have gone from 4 doses per day to two doses per day 😁 yay 😁 👍A few button pushes, and a swap of the printed ring to show just AM/PM and I now have double the time between refills.Most importantly, I no longer have to remember the change in doses; once it is reprogrammed I just wait to be told what, and when I need to take it.👍

Bought this to help my mother take her daily medication as she suffers with Dementia. It was good in that it saved my mother mixing up her daily pills from using manual pill boxes. It was fairly easy to set up and comes with different changeable pill day templates. However, there were a few issues. I found my mum was able to pry apart the lid and remove more pills so had to tape down the sides. Also was able to balance the round pill box up on its end meaning the alarm would sound and the pills would not be released until the pill box was layed down correctly. Overall, fairly satisfied.

Fungerar bra men saknar svenska på dagarna dock står det vilka språk som fins och svenska är inte ett av dom. Går att låsa me. Batterierna kan ma. Plocka ut och så slutar den larma. Så den som inte riktigt kommer ihåg hur den fungerar tar ur batteriet och slutar få medicin

Un prodotto che può veramente aiutare nella somministrazione esatta dei medicinali, specialmente quando sono tanti e da prendere in vari orari. Consiglio di leggere attentamente le istruzioni prima di impostarlo. Non è difficile programmarlo ma è bene capire tutto a fondo, poi diventa facile. Presenti 28 scompartimenti che con l'impostazione a 4 allarmi giornalieri permettono di avere una intera settimana di autonomia. Il vantaggio principale nell'utilizzo é quello di poter verificare in qualsiasi momento se l'ultima dose di pillole é stata assunta e questo è fondamentale con utilizzatori anziani con poca memoria.Buona l'idea del doverlo rovesciare per far cessare l'allarme ,in questo modo si costringe a prendere fisicamente la pillola o le pillole. In definitiva un acquisto utilissimo (io ne ho già due) specialmente se a farne uso sono persone anziane e se i trattamenti sono continui e articolati. Il distributore é chiuso con una chiave acquistabile separatamente se dovesse essere persa. Qualcuno ha scritto di fragilità nella cerniera di apertura ma si presuppone che il dispositivo venga caricato e predisposto non dall'anziamo ma da altre persone . E sufficiente un minimo di attenzione. In definitiva un dispositivo si abbastanza costoso, ma efficace e direi fondamentale per la salute di persone che hanno bisogno di seguire trattamenti in modo continuativo.

Funziona benissimo. Problema delle pillole per mia mamma e' risolto.Prima a volte le prendeva piu' volte, altre volte non le prendeva. Era impossibile capire cosa facesse.Adesso e' tutto perfetto.Arrivato l'orario suona e rende disponibili le pillole per quell'ora.
