HydraMed Night 5g tube by HydraMed

I am 6 weeks post cataract surgery. I have/had severely dry eyes and eyelid fatigue from the dryness. Even though I have been using daily lubricating drops, it still wasn’t enough to combat the dryness. I have used these three nights in a row now. It was a game changer from night one. I woke up for the first time after 6 weeks without my eyes feeling supremely dry and fatigued. And the moisturising effects continued all day until late afternoon/ evening when I start using my usual day lubricating drops. Usually I use my eye drops from as soon as I wake up in the morning. Highly recommend to anyone with severely dry eyes or anyone post eye surgery.

I normally get Hylo Night as a free NHS prescription item, but my local pharmacy can’t get it in stock lately and my GP surgery is unhelpful with providing an alternative product. The ingredients of this appear on a par with Hylo Night, but definitely in different percentage proportions because this ointment comes out of the tube far less solid. It is a little harder to use because of that, combined with the fact that the nozzle is also larger than Hylo Night. That said, the effect of the product itself is definitely just as good as Hylo Night, and in fact it might have a slight edge over it: in the mornings I have no trouble opening my eyes, while I get some minor resistance with Hylo Night due to residual overnight dryness. I would definitely buy this again if I cannot get my normal Hylo Night prescription fulfilled.

Good alternative to Hylo night at a reasonable price

I bought this as an alternative to the one prescribed by my Opthalmologist because it does not contain petroleum and doesn't leave my eyes feeling gritty in the morning.

I get very dry eyes at night, so thought I'd give this a try. It's quite hard to apply, as when you squeeze it into your eye, even if you do it they way it says, you can pull the gel out of your eye. It is also quite thick and greasy so once you get it in, you can't see very well at all (just as well it's for when you go to bed, right?). It does feel quite moisturising, although I don't feel it worked as well as other liquid dry eye formulas such as Hycosan Intense, which is my go-to now. I also feel as though it can be a bit aggravating having it in your eye. Like I can feel that I've put it in. Probably won't buy it again.

comfortable and hydrating. Just 1 tube of ointment is enough to months of using. Totally worth its price.

Au vu de la quantité se produit est très cher il ressemble à une pommade dulcis que j'utilisais mais qui n'est plus en vente et qui était bien moins cher. Cependant des réceptions je l'ai utilisé car j'en ai vraiment besoin et il a fait le taf. Je souffre des yeux secs mais surtout les paupières très sèches et très irritées en permanence et cette pommade dès la première application à calmer les démangeaisons et m'a redonné du confort donc je pense continuer à acheter ce produit puisque nous n'en avons plus d'autres.
