would no longer bead up water anymore and felt a bit gritty for want of a better term. I cleaned the lime around the sink ...
Wow. I didn't really expect the results I got with this product, but the 511 really delivered. Three years ago, when I got my granite counter tops, which are a lighter and very porous granite, I was told they were permanently sealed and would require no maintenance on my part. Well, not so much. I have hard water and around the sink area the pores had held water and created a coating of lime that had significantly dulled the granite. This area particularly, and the rest of the counter areas generally, would no longer bead up water anymore and felt a bit gritty for want of a better term. I cleaned the lime around the sink with 15 minute vinegar - oxyclean soaks followed by nailbrush scrubs and water rinses. Probably 6 or 7 repetitions of this and the lime was gone and the surface shine returned. After this I cleaned everything with a 50/50 water - rubbing alcohol wipe and then applied 511 simply following the directions. I applied 4 times to the sink area and 2 times everywhere else. The difference is amazing. The granite surfaces feel so much smoother and the shine has returned. Now water beads up nicely again just as I remembered when the counters were new. While, judging from the fact that overnight wine spills never stained the counters, the permanent seal must have held, this product really returned the smooth feel and shine to the granite. The product's smell really wasn't that bad - the vinegar may have been more obnoxious - and a little really went a long way. So easy to apply, I wonder why anyone would pay someone to seal their granite. I'll for sure be using the rest of the bottle probably 6 months from now and won't hesitate to buy more when it runs out.

This is the stuff; everything else is junk.
I've tried Stonetech, Granite Gold and two or three other sealers. Don't waste your time. This stuff may be expensive, but it is worth every penny. It seals the granite and reduces the occurrence of stains. Water beads on the countertops and can sit 24 hours without soaking in. Before I used this stuff, even water soaked into my granite leaving dark marks that would take hours to evaporate. I just used a paintbrush to apply, let it sit for 3 minutes, wiped off the excess, waited an hour and applied a second coat. That was it. No long curing time and it works. Miracle Sealants Porous Plus is wonderful stuff. PROS - excellent seal - does not need a long curing time like other sealants - easy to apply CONS - expensive (but worth the money) - can darken very light granite; be sure to test a small section before applying over the entire surface Buy it especially if you have new granite and use it before you use the granite. It will keep it beautiful and stain free (with a bit of care of course).

Easy but stinky.
Very easy to use. Seemed to adhere to my limestone back splash. As for durability so far itโs good. Splashes from the sink wipe off without a problem. I have to say if you are sensitive to smells this really has a strong odor when putting it on.

Does the job
I used the 511 sealant for my new granite countertop (mixed light beige and dark brown color). I did not know I had to have it sealed but when I saw dark water stains on the countertop after washing some dishes, I realized that the water was soaking into the stone. Thank goodness it was just water and not spilled coffee or who knows what. It would have been a very bad day if that happened. Anyhow, I did some research and came up on this product. Ordered it, and it came within 2 days which was great. I applied two coats of this on the countertop and on the grout lines on my backsplash. Now when I do the dishes, the water just beads up and does not look like it is penetrating the stone anymore. The only downside it that the stone does not feel silky smooth. It has almost a rubbery feel to it when I swipe my fingers across the stone. It is the product I am sure, but not sure if that will smooth out over time as it cures more or if that is how it will be all the time. Either way, I am still happy since I know the stone is now sealed and protected. Other thoughts - It was on the pricey side but when thinking about it, one could spend thousands on nice stone countertop and have it ruined if not seals properly with the right sealant. Also, the sealant did not discolor my granite stone which I was originally worried about before I applied it. (Try using in inconspicuous spot and let sit overnight to see if you see any difference. That is what I did) I am giving it 4 stars for now...since it has been less than a week of applying the 511 sealant...but so far I am happy with outcome. I will append an update at a later time to see if this product still holds up well. Cheers!

Great sealer
I used the 511 Pourous plus on some travertine tile that I layed on my from porch and front steps. I applied two coats. It works extremely well. It actually gives you a nice light sheen on the tile and it prevents water penetration. The only thing is that when it rains, I do have to blow the water off with my electric blower because the water will sit on the tile until the sum hits it for a while. I guess you can let it dry by itself, but I like to blow the water off since its a quick and easy process.

Prevents stains and easy to apply
I used this to seal the marble decking around our pool. We noted that it stains easily with leaves, dirt, etc. This is easy to apply and dries quickly. Does not change the look of the marble, but does make it more water resistant. It does seem to prevent stains to a great extent and makes it easier to clean. It does not make the marble shiny, but was not expecting that. Will plan to reapply at least once per year.

Keeps clay pots porous and protects the decorative paint
I don't know how well it will work in the long run, but it brushes on easily. Do wear gloves because it made my fingers numb. It has strong vapors so I used it outside and it still is outgassing 5 hours later. I intend to use the pots on the lanai, but don't know if I could use them inside. Cleanup is with solvent not water, so you really have to need the porous feature.

Great product for sealing flagstone around a pool (even a saltwater pool!)
We have struggled to find a good sealant for the flagstone coping around our saltwater pool. Products we have tried have not been effective for very long and/or made the stone shiny and very slippery, dangerously so. The stone was chipping and flaking very badly and we were getting lots of sand in the pool. Miracle 511 Porous Plus has sealed the stone and not made it slippery, and it did not change the look of the flagstone at all. The amount of sand in our pool after a long day of kids' swimming has been reduced to near nothing. Water beads up on the stone rather than soaking in (see the photo in this review) but surface is not slippery. No more chipping and flaking. Product is kinda pricey per quart. I needed 3 quarts to put 2 coats on my 110 linear feet X 12 inch surface. One coat might have been enough but I wanted to solve the problem once and for all. The 3 quarts also covered the water-facing edge and the small underside surface of stone, both of which get a lot of water splash. But the cost has been well worth it. I used a 5 inch brush for the main surface and 2 inch brush for edge and underside. I also applied it with water in the pool, just drained the water level down a bit. 2 coats took about 8 hours over 2 days but you can apply a second coat an hour after the first so it can be done in one day. Will have to see if I need to put another coat on next spring or not. I don't think I will, but if I do, it will still be worth it and I will probably need only one coat. This has been by far the best product for a tough problem.

Awesome
I have natural stone tiles on my kitchen wall, behind the stove as a backslash as well. The contractor was just not professional enough to know that this was supposed to be treated with sealant to prevent the oil and other stains being sucked up by the stone what ended up on the wall while cooking. I have not spilled anything directly on it but it is normal when food is boiling on the stove to have humidity and stuff evaporate... A have suffered removing the residue. Didn't dare to cook again and ruin the wall again. After I have treated the tiles with this product nothing sticks in/on the tiles any more. I can truly recommend. Would do the job with paint and kitchen counter as well. However it made the color slightly darker, which I do not mind. Its nice and even.
