The one I originally ordered didn't fit, so I contacted Bonavita and they helped me find the right one. The gold filter that fits this machine is the Goldtone model number FBA-LG08 (ASIN B0067NB5J4), $7.95 on AZ. The one that comes up on Amazon as often bought with this coffeemaker is too tall. **Q: I know this doesn't have a timer but could I use a timer on my wall socket and have it turn on?** A: No you cannot use a timer. The switch is momentary on with a single push and off with a push. Holding it for 5 seconds turns on or off the preinfusion cycle and the power must remain supplied to the machine for it to remember this option. If the power is removed by unplugging or power loss the machine will revert to continous cycle without preinfusion. The circuitry and wiring inside this machine is low quality and you can expect the input resistors to burn out as the boiler ages or becomes scaled with lime and draws higher amperage. In on my second one in 4 years with it all taken apart ready to solder a new resistor to the cheap circuit board they use for this coffeemaker. It makes great coffee when it's clean and working.
