Moon Palace Sumi Ink 180ml

Really good sumo ink.

Certainly a powerful colour and permanent once dry, avoid spilling it on the carpet or anything of fabrics unless you are looking to use it on cloths, then cotton is best and drip it into cold water after its dried to set it, it is a very very dark black, great for Calligraphy and using with a chinese brush.

I wanted an ink that was made for dip pens, straight and angled. I did some research and this one came on my radar, I thought go on then I'll take a chance, glad I did because the ink just works beautifully for copperplate and other scripts. It dries in no time at all, it does have a funny smell but you get used to that and the price is fantastic for what I'm using it for. A perfect practice ink that will see you right.I had to find a jar or pot with lid to hold the ink and I needed the opening to allow a oblique pen holder, I used Loreal Age Perfect pot, cleaned out of course. I twisted the neck of the ink cap and poured right to the top of the Loreal jar and there is still over three quarters left of this product. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

This is mountains better than india ink, it lays completely black without any transparency!

Disliked the bottle. A wider top would be nice. I use the ink for the hospital book of remembrance. The best I've tried to date as it doesn't bleed as much as others.

Its a great deal on ink. I use it in my old ink ports and its soo much. Cheaper

For whatever reason I'm not able to find out whether or not bottled ink is waterproof before I buy it. So if anyone else was wondering; this is not waterproof, it bleeds once dried when exposed to water. It would be handy if all inks were required to give this information as I've had to buy something in the range of 3 different brands now, all of which are useless for my purposes. However, if you only need it for simple purposes it is serviceable enough.
