OtterBox Defender Case for Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation - Coal

I bought this case after i dropped my previous iPod and smashed the screen. I did some research and decided to go for the OtterBox as the reviews were positive. The case itself is well made, sturdy and fairly easy to fit. It also comes with a screen protector which is actually pretty responsive compared to others I've used. The iPod charging port is well protected with its own little flap. Bluetooth isn't impacted in anyway when the case is fitted so connection to headphones or speakers is good. The case is robust but with a very slight element of give, almost sponge like which is both tactile in the hand, easy to grip and adds to the protection should you drop it. A really good case and pleased I bought it.

Love this brand in general. I have their first ever ipod protector where you can literally drive over the ipod and it wont smash. It was very thick etc. This one is more streamlined but has great rubber protection. Fits perfectly around the new ipod Dec 2019 version. Child has dropped it of course many times and the ipod is intact. Hope I don't have to check its waterproof technology. This brand is the best on the market, others are simply for show in my opinion. I prefer practicality.

While it can be agonising to lock away a pretty new device in a chunky case, clumsy people like me resign themselves to the necessity of it. However, compared to other heavy duty cases that I've tried in the past, this one is surprisingly sleek and low profile. The built in screen protector doesn't hamper responsiveness of the touch screen, but if you do want to get rid of the built in screen protector, it's easy enough to pop out as it's only lightly glued on. I'm using a glass screen protector at the moment with this. The dual layer protection feels like it really protects your device; the silicon type material on the outside has a small amount of give to it, so absorbs impact well. When I drop my iPod, it goes with a soft clunk instead of a horrible clatter. On some cases, the silicon material can get slightly sticky after a while, but this didn't happen on this case. What's also good is Otterbox's manufacturer guarantee. I had an issue where the plastic inner had cracked and the outer silicone had become too loose. After sending pictures and proof of purchase to Otterbox customer service, they sent me a new one out, free of charge. And they didn't even need me to send the broken one back. Just make sure you get a genuine Otterbox, there's a lot of fakes out there. The one thing that did concern me was that the plastic inner broke perhaps a bit too easily. It broke in the top right and bottom left corners of the screen. I suppose it did its job though, in the sense that at least my iPod didn't break. Also, after taking the outer layer off a few times, it became a bit looser than I'd like. Not a case to fiddle with. In additon, it is a bit awkward to take off and put on, especially if dust under the screen protector irritates you. In my opinion though, this is the trade off you make for such good protection.

This is a brilliant item. after having to buy a new ipod after dropping my last one several times i decided it was time to invest in a good quality case. its easy to place on the ipod and easy to remove. it works exactly as it should and protects the ipod wonderfully. definitely worth investing in,

It keeps a £250 device safe from a 2 and 4 year old where other cases do not, so much so I can leave them un watched with it and not worry.

seems really solid and well made also the protective cover over the home button is a neat touch as my autistic niece likes to bite her ipod and cracked the button last time..if this 1 lasts 6 months i'll be happy

Ho acquistato questa custodia per l'IPOD Touch 5G di mio figlio. La custodia è veramente ben fatta, robusta e indistruttibile. Ottima per i ragazzi che usano l'ipod tutti i giorni e (vedi il mio) spesso li cade in terra... Spedizione velocissima, arrivato in anticipo rispetto alla data di consegna.

Although I love my iPod Touch, I am not much of a fan of the super thin trend as I find it hard to hold onto the thinner phones (and this Touch). After dropping the Touch half a dozen times, I thought that a case would be a good way to both protect the Touch and make it easier to hold. Since I like the Otterbox on my Note 5 so much, I thought I'd try it for the Touch. This is another great product. On the plus side, the dual case system is really, really solid, with great fit and finish, and superb attention to detail. All of the cutouts are positioned exactly right, the buttons are just a tiny bit harder to push (which is a plus as it prevents accidental presses). I also liked the screen protector built into the inner half of the case system. It provides decent protection from scratches, and still provides good touch and feel with the screen. Most importantly for me, this makes the iPod much easier to hold, with a nice, slightly rubbery feel. I haven't dropped the iPod once wince I got it, but I know it will provide great protection if I do drop it again. The only real negative I can find with the case is that it seems to allow a bit more dust between the screen protector and the Touch screen, although it isn't horrible.. I'd buy Otterbox for any device I own, and on balance, I think this was the perfect case for my iPod Touch.

Habe es auf einen iPod Touch 5G montiert und es hielt einen Test mit Sand und etwas Feuchtigkeit problemlos stand. Sicherlich trägt es etwas auf, da vor allem beim iPod Touch die Gehäuseform noch flacher ist, als beim iPhone. Dennoch ist das Teil hervorragend geschützt und wird auch Stürze geringer Höhe überstehen.

Excellent case. Tight fit to put on my iPod touch 6 but all openings, etc., line up absolutely perfectly. Slight loss of touch screen sensitivity but you gain a lot of protection and water resistance over open-face cases. Buttons do require some extra force to push since they are covered by the case but this is no different than a different brand case on my phone. Only caveat is that some accessories (my apple lightning to 30-pin adaptor) and some docks may not work with the case on because of the extra thickness the connector has to go through and narrow width of the case opening. Regular charging cords all work absolutely fine with the case on though.
