On straight sections the larger edge works quickly with a rolling action. The metal end piece appears to be designed to strike with a hammer, but I wouldn't attempt this as there is a notable weak point where the head of the tool is fitted. This also makes the tool uncomfortable to use when using your palm to drive the tool into corners. The head is as thin as a scraper and I damaged the skirting a few times, so watch out for this. Overall, this is a good tool and should be used alongside a conventional bolster for larger jobs.

**Q: Is the blade end of this plastic or metal?**
A: Its a metal blade. I have found it really good and useful.

**Q: How do you use a knee kicker**
A: You put the carpet down and as you are moving across the floor on top of the carpet you are hitting the kicker with your knee to stretch the carpet in front of you. It stretches the carpet properly to prevent the carpet having any saggy parts after you have laid it.
The carpet kicker tool has a pad at one end for you to ‘kick’ with your knee and at the other end it has a grid of spikes that go into the carpet without damaging it, giving the tool traction. Hope that helps.

Very good, tucks carpet very well, I recommend wearing gloves when using this product as long time use can cause blisters to your hand. Overall happy!
